The thing that annoyed me most about the episode was when they showed the picture of Parkman's Dad I jokingly said "IT'S THE NIGHTMARE MAN!!"

....

And then it turned out it really was the nightmare man. :-?

Although, the idea of the supposedly meanest, nastiest villain of them all being some old, fat, bald guy amuses me greatly. Though it will probably end up being that he's not really that bad, his power is just the ability to terrify little children or something.

Edit:

The waitress's power was to speed-learn, but she had to at least make some effort (took her a week to learn Japanese with the help of Hiro and a book).
Yes, 'Echo' is looking like she could turn out to be interesting. Hopefully they won't emo her up too much.

...I wonder if Claire's car is Sylar's consolation prize. He doesn't get her powers, but as a lovely parting gift he gets a 2008 Nissan Rogue!

My guesses.

Of course Peter is his tool. Think of it as an Emperor Palpitine-Darth Vader relationship without the cloaks and disfigurement.

EDIT: You'd think Linderman would have taken the time that evening to heal Deveaux. What a bastard.

It was especially weird since it was Tom Grummet doing the art.

The Sylar/Bob link makes sense, since the company was VERY specific about keeping Syler alive when he was in their custody.

Also, West. What an arse.

Micah Gunnell or Ryan Odagawa would've been better choices. Probably several others who'd done previous graphic novels would've been.

...Looking at that picture, I notice that Mr. Petrell has horn-rimmed glasses....

Total shot in the dark, but it's possible that HE was the one in the eigth painting.

Think about it. All of the paintings in that series are about members of the Linderman group. I don't think Bennet counts.

The only thing about that is the fact that the paintings look like they're in chronological order, and Petrelli is already . But we can't count time travel out.

Methinks a lot of people are confusing the new girl's powers.

She has the power to instinctively photographically remember and perfectly copy any physical motion she sees. It's not TV specific, she just happens to have seen the actions she's copied so far from television.

Seems like last season they had all the traditional science fiction powers (such as flight, mind-reading, time-travel etc). This season they're trying to get some mildly original ones in. The only trouble with that, is that there's probably a reason why nobody has used the 'new' powers in media before. They're crap :p

Is this a spoiler, or are you guessing? Because I took the rich, deep flickering of the television in her eyes while she was watching the smackdown fight as a clue that her power focuses on television. Mica's power is technology related, why couldn't hers be too?

New girls powers aren't really "Original," there have been heroes with the power to duplicate any action they see. Echo for one and I think there was another one called "Task Master" or something.

What they need to do is start coming up with hero's who have totally lame powers. Like the ability to turn shoes invisible or mentally control display window mannequins. They kinda came close last season with "Guy who could turn stuff into puddles." I want more heroes like him :)

Sorry about that, I didn't particularly think of that as a spoiler. I assumed it was obvious from watching Monday's heroes.

This I don't doubt. I in no way claim superior knowledge in the science fiction precedent for these 'new' powers in the show. It's nice to see that they've at least tried using some less well known ones, rather than just having nothing but flying people. Oh, wait. :P

Now, onto discussion of Matt Parkman's daddy. Anyone else thinking now that his power is actually remarkably similar to Matt's? They're both in the range of what could be called psychic abilities. Whilst it's interesting, I'm guessing it means that the nightmare man is no longer this season's big bad. Just another pain in the arse as it were.

I think you're covered. The title warns of it. Besides, it's been mentioned in almost every promotional piece that mentions new characters that I can remember.

Maybe. Or maybe he's in the group of baddies (assuming there is one) that's causing the problems.

It does raise questions about heredity in powers, though, since this would be the closest they've shown so far (except maybe Maya & Alejandro...who are flipsides of the same coin)

Yeah, no fault there Rickford. I wasn't suggesting it's bad for you to post a spoiler. I was asking if it was a legitimate spoiler - something you got from a reputable source, or if it was your best guess after seeing the episode.

It didn't seem obvious to me that her ability was to mimic perfectly any physical action she saw. I really got the impression it was somehow television based since the only actions she duplicated were ones she saw on TV, and the way the camera caught the TV reflecting in her eye while she kind of stared in that "downloading information now" way.
