I had a dream that a lion leapt out of my attic and killed me once. 'Twas odd.
The problem I have is that my lucid dreams always start slowly disintegrating around me, so my brain starts rationalising things, decides that nothing's actually happening, and so I end up stuck in a foggy, dull, half-waking world trying to claw some sort of enjoyment back.
And occasionally I'll get the odd, fully-remembered peaceful dream, usually where I'm somewhere or other in continental Europe for some reason. In a train. Which is also a hotel.
I want a goddamn flying dream, dammit!

I had this one horrible dream where threads about pancakes got completely derailed.

You know that whole "you wake up before you hit the ground" thing? Doesn't work for me. I land and get disoriented and struggle with the traumas of falling. Then again, I switch narrative focus in my dreams so much that I'm completely different characters at any given time.

I just conveniently find objects that weren't there a moment ago.The Neko wrote:Then again, I switch narrative focus in my dreams so much that I'm completely different characters at any given time.

''Gee, I seem to be swiftly falling from the sky. Good thing I just noticed I have a parachute strapped to my back!''
And I once had a dream where I actually died, and went to the afterlife.
Weird, but I didn't find anything strange about it until I woke up.
I had a long stint as a teen with claustophobia dreams. You know where everything is closing in on you - ceiling and walls. The freaky thing was they were always black and white and in various checked patterns. I woke up screaming hysterically and in a major panic attack.
Haven't had dreams that fearful in ages. Usually my dreams are pretty "meh" if and when I do remember them.

I usually feel the falling sensation while falling asleep, or as I'm waking up, rarely in-dream.
I drove off a mountain once in-dream. I was driving home from my summer job, which was at a hotel at the top of a mountain. I was pissed, so I was driving down the switchback at reckless speeds...then I didn't turn once and launched my vehicle into the nearby river. It was pretty sweet. It actually woke me up, but I don't think I was that disturbed by it.
Maybe I should draw something involving pancakes... hmm.
Edit: The only character I draw regularly these days (or ever) is me, but <shrug> I felt like doodling.

i once had a dream in which I woke up, did some stuff, woke up again, got in trouble, made myself wake up(styill dreaming in reality) but then went back to sleep.
I haven't been sure if I was awake or not since.

I had a dream that I was this important leader who "died" in a sense. Actually the logistics as I come back to recall was that there were two worlds or dimensions in which people live on, and the only way to get from one to another was death. But the leader had his scientists develop a way to cross the dimensions, and volunteered to go over to this other world... because as the story went, he lost his daughter to natural causes and because she was the only thing left of his world that he cared for now, he would search the ends of the Earth to find her and bring her back. So he heads off to this other world and finds out it was HE who died her almost two years ago... (time isn't linear as I gather, because my character's last life was about the same age as he was, and he held the simular job, except he was assassinated by this mob. The dream revolved around regaining the throne while fighting off this Mob boss/assassin and gaining the trust of the leaders off world daughter. It got fuzzy at the end.

I always wake up as I fall through the floor. Ever no-clipped through a wall in a game and you have those wierd repeating patterns and stuff? Thats what I see. Then I wake up with a start and I'll be like "Shit"... then I'll pass out.dracomax wrote:I wake AS I hit the ground. the bed actually is bouncing. every time.

I had a dream once where I woke up... and it turned out I actually woke up. It was really confusing.
I also had a dream where I fell over the railing in a parking structure and died... but as I fell over my perspective shifted from first-person to third-person I ended up looking down and my mangled corpse thinking "aw crap, now what do I do?"

I had one last night where I was in a cinema (With the same layout as various other buildings in my dreams, oddly enough - my brain's a bit lazy evidently) and there was a room right at the back with a wooden bridge over a pool of flammable liquid. It looked kinda like one of the sets in The Crystal Maze, except bigger and with a bit less decoration.
Oh yes, and there was someone going mad or stupid or something who picked up a nearby (Nearby? Yes, nearby. This was a weird cinema) burning, wooden torch and proceeded to set the room on fire. Why? I forget.
EDIT: I'd like to see Joseph and his bloody technicolour dreamcoat interpret these dreams

Me too, although it's happened all my life, so I'm used to it by now (not that it happens ALL the time or anything...I've just ceased to find it creepy anymore)Noise Monkey wrote:I get that too. and it is.dracomax wrote:I wake AS I hit the ground. the bed actually is bouncing. every time.
