Think your home is secure against burglary

Post by Dburkhead »

Guess again.

Simple "bumpkey" opens most locks in seconds with no particular skills required and leaving no traces of forced entry.

The gargoyles on my roof are actually real. Sometimes I find black masks and femurs on my doorstep.

I don't really see it as a big problem, after all, we tend to use a combination of those type keys and these type at the same time in England.

I never though it was weird until some australian guy told me that nobody uses those keys over there. Although the lock is easier to pick, you actually have to pick it rather than just tap it with something.

All the same, I'm sitting here with a spare key and a file.

They're already on ebay. wOOt! I'm getting me some of those. :)

Our locks are key-card based. There's no key lock at all. So we're bump-key proof.

Nope, just card readers. I'm going to get me a reader and reprogram my card to open all the doors in the building. wish I still had my old reader.

NY has the lowest burglary rate in the nation, plus I'm a college student with nothing of value.

Do the dogs shoot lasers, or just explode on contact?

I made one of those a while ago after I heard about these. Theyre no joke, they really do work.

They have bees in their mouths, and when they bark they shoot bees at you.

If the Dane doesn't like you, you'll explode on contact. :)

That clip is taken from a dutch tv program and it caused quite a rumpus.

I don't really see what the fuss is about. So it takes a burglar half a second less to get in your home now.

That's got me thinking about magnetic locks, but the power consumption would be horrendous.
