Does anybody here play Magic: the Gathering? I'm a nut with this game. I have 16 decks, and I wouldn't mind sharing my deck builds or combos with anyone interested.
What if nobody ever asked "what if?"

at first i thought this thread was about corgan's comic. i really know nothing about the game aside from that it involves spending lots and lots of money on cards, so i'll be off.

I play Magic.
I'm curently running Izzetron until Dissension comes out when I'll either go for a Selesnya-Simic-Azorius combo (Depending on the creatures Simic gets) or Azorius-Boros-Izzet counter-burn.

Don't group those together @@ Wizards of the Coast makes both, but other than that they're unrelated.

I started playing M:tG back in 6th grade, which was 7 years ago. Since then it's been on-and-off, mostly dependent on my proximity to people who also played. I don't think I've played since I graduated high school a year ago, but I never really lost interest in it.

My top deck was a U/b Psychatog deck ... I usually WTFPwned the people I played against with it n_n

I had them in 3rd grade. They're still around somewhere. I mostly liked them for the art, though.

I played it a few times in grade school but never had my own cards. I have to say I thought you were talking about Corgan's comic as well.

Me too...that's a slight dissapointement.

As for Magic:TG, I never really played it. I did have some of the very first cards that I got when I was in junior high tucked away, but my dad and mom (my dad's a preacher) threw them away because they thought they were some sort of WITCHCRAFT! OOOH!

They've since apologized, and I've forgiven them. Dad stopped being fire and brimstone about things as he got older. He's even a Harry Potter fan. XD

Yeah, I used to be real big into it, but I really more or less stopped playing.

I was into it about a decade ago when I was in Junior high.

I still have all my old cards somewhere...I bet a few of them are actually worth a bit today.

I used to play. Tried at least. Haven't bought cards since the Apocalypse expansion though. I'm thinking about selling my cards, but I doubt they'd be worth anything.

This thread'll be getting big.

Yes, I play Magic. I only really learned to play about a year ago, but I've been collecting the cards and trying to learn for around 4. (A good teacher makes a BIG difference, ya know?)

I'm generally more of a limited player than anything else though. I'm dying for the Dissention PR this saturday.

When Magic first came out I remember thinking that it was the dumbest thing ever. I said so loudly to my friends as they started trying out their brand new Alpha/Beta edition decks. Somewhere between watching over their shoulders and saying the entire idea was dumb I got hooked and I've spent, in my lifetime, probably over $2000 bucks on the goddamn game.

God, is Magic that old? I was there for the Black Lotus, man. The Mox. Not so long ago I got into Magic Online which was great because you could always get a game and always get cards without getting up from your seat and it was great for WotC because they had now tricked me out of paying good hard cash for silly pieces of paper and upgraded into tricking me out of paying good hard cash for VIRTUAL SILLY PIECES OF PAPER.

JESUS H CHRIST AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

I've finally learned my lesson, I think. I love that game so much. And I'd love to play it again. But since they cycle out of expansions more often than I change my socks I'm never spending a penny on it again.
Jackhass wrote:I still have all my old cards somewhere...I bet a few of them are actually worth a bit today.
Sorry, man, they're probably worthless since no one can play those old cards in sanctioned games anymore. :(
