Just a point that birdshot is a shotgun shell - a 28-gauge shotgun shell in this case. For those who don't know, the higher the gauge, the smaller the pellet. 28-gauge is very, very small. Birdshot doesn't rip a bird to pieces like a larger bullet or pellet would, but it does enter the animal and tear its insides up.

Oddly, I'm not a hunter. I just frequent gun and knife shows. I don't even own a gun. I'm a poser gun-enthusiast. :P

You'd think he'd have shot a democrat, not another republican...

That's just poor strategy, there. NEVER SHOOT YOUR OWN GUYS!

Well, that sort of takes the skill requirement out of it, I suppose.

You can survive being shot in the face though, even with a more dangerous weapon.
Your nose is part of your face. If you get shot in the nose (sideways) and it gets blown clean off, you're not going to die. As long as its not the arteries, or brain, you could technically survive.

I'm sure they appreciated the gesture, but uh it kinda makes it hard to eat when the bird is peppered with a ton of bbs. plus, wild turkey don't make for good eating, they are too lean and sinewy. (quoth the vegetarian)
Um...if they had to go to a charity, then why should they bitch about what state the free bird is in..?
I've worked with soup kitchens/charities that work to feed the poor, and the food they generally work with isn't that bad actually- mainly massive bulk stuff like those gallon containers of tomato soup and overstocked items.

while I've never shot a gun in my life so I don't have any idea what the result is, I personally wouldn't want to be the poor volunteer that has to (I presume) fish a half-dozen bbs out of a tiny turkey, then try to prepare the tough meat, now gun-powder flavored, into something someone would want to eat.

aww great, now my inner conspiricy theorist is wondering. the white house very recently began facing a lot of flak for New Orleans and for the leak of that CIA agent's identity, this would be a great distraction... bah, I'm just being paranoid.

D'oh :D. I don't know much about guns, I just knew birdshot wasn't the stuff used to splatter zombie brains.

If you fired at really close range, you turn the zombie into a raver (ya'know, because of all the heavy metal that'd be in its head)...

But it has plenty to do with zombies who have pellets rattling around in their heads.

I don't know, the majority of republicans in 2000 were smearing McCain's record, which leaves me wondering who/where the moderate republicans are.
