Hello.

I've searched for reference to scanning grayscale drawings, but haven't come up with anything wonderful.

Here's my issue: I'm using Copic warm gray markers with black Gelly Roll. The images look decent on the page, but when I scan them they lose some detail and the grays look off. This happens on auto mode, at 300 dpi, 600 dpi, etc. (None of the drawings are yet posted on my site).

Is it possible to capture grayscale drawings with a scanner? Or is this why everyone draws on their computers these days?

Try scanning it in color, in photo mode, and then tweedling it. I had the same issue with lineart and greys coming out weird, and that helped.

Thanks for the info, but can you define "tweedle?"

My exposure type is set to "photo"; 24 bit color; Tone Correction: Linear; 600 dpi.

Sorry, by tweedle I mean adjust the levels, curves, brightness, color balance, and contrast until it looks how you want it.

Scan at the dpi you're happy with. I scan in color. Then convert to greyscale then adjust the brightness, levels. Then print one off to see how it looks side by side on a piece of paper. Rinse and repeat until happy. Trial and error.
