White outline

Post by Dr_Destruction »

Any tips for removing the anti aliasing of gifs and pngs when they're made transparent? I keep getting a white outline and I used to do something that would eliminate it before I reduced the size for the web but now I can't remember what it was. :(

If you use photoshop, something you can do is go to Layer > Matting > Remove White Matte. That should take care of most of the annoying white line.

Tried it a couple of times with no visible effect. On a whim I tried Defringe which is right above Remove White Matting and it worked like a charm!
