Dr. Hamstructo
Dr. Hamstructo
Well, I think I've got this whole thing worked out thus far. Dr. Hamstructo is my NEW webcomic concept. I haven't pitched it yet because I only have about 8 strips up right now and before I do, I'd like some feedback for it.
Each strip will be one frame, (MWF) some strips go together sequentially, but in the future I may include more than one frame per strip.
My overall goal is to create enough to compile a children's book from. This is just silly E-rated humor with maybe some political inuendos in it.
Comments? Ideas?

First off, you've got me hooked just with the illustration style. But then...it's my business to enjoy children's books...actually...half the time they're the ones I read anyway...
It looks really nice and simple, yet with style and definite talent. Artwise, I reckon it's top notch.
They're gonna be single panels each time, you say. That's fine. Are they in some sort of order at the moment, or are you just throwing them onto the net as they come from your head? I wasn't sure if I was to see any story developing yet. I'll follow along for a while and see how you're running with it.
Overall, I reckon you've got a good little idea going here. I'm interested.
Cheers.

I tried making a story for a full children's book at first, but realized that I pretty much suck at developing plot lines. Overall, most of it will be pretty random as the ideas enter my head and are given to me, but a lot of people (including myself) are sticklers for story, so every once and a while I thought I'd do a sort-of mini-story where say "Dr. Hamstructo Discovers the Great Outdoors"
In which case he may have invented a spherical Hamster transporation device allowing him to explore the new world (livingroom) and encounter strange, new creatures!
I duno. Story sounds good, but I wana keep things simple and funny, especially in the early phases.
I'm glad you're digging the art style. It's still pretty experimental for me.

I'd think about putting a storyline in first before you pitch it...maybe even take down the strips you've got and focus on a story from the beginning. Bring those strips back in when that part arrives in your plot. On the first reading, not many of them made much sense to me, but I was reading expecting a narrative.
