Try searching google :-D Actually, you do need a different program. A student I knew had a method of saving different layers as an gifdocument to animated it, but I don't udnerstand how it wotks or even how to do it.
I have seen students do it, and it says how here, but it uses Elemtents in this case. http://www.adobe.com/digitalimag/tips/p ... imlyrs.pdf

The best way is to find a program which let's you string frames you drew individually in photoshop (like for a banner) and animates them. The tutorials I found online suggested http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/gif ... l#download
Imageready and photoshop is a good combo.
Tutorial: http://user.fundy.net/morris/downloads/ ... tedGIF.pdf

A tool for use with photoshop 5.0 (Not sure if for other versions): http://www.ignite-it.co.uk/

This one: http://www.webdevelopersjournal.com/art ... ons_1.html explains how and suggests free programs.

I heard heard of this from others, but I've never done it this way. I used Imageready (horrible, but good for simple things) which came with the photoshop version I got. Now I used flash, which is unecessary for something simple.

All that talking, and nothing useful. Sorry  Hope I at least pointed out other methods.

Photoshop generally comes with Imageready. Use that. It's a gif editor with a few extra gizmos and thingymabobs.

I used
http://www.ulead.com/ga/trial.htm
It's pretty simple program to learn, if you're importing images from photoshop or some other art program. But registration required after a week or so.
I didn't pay for it so now I'm using
http://www.soft32.com/download-Babarosa ... 557-5.html
which is one of better ones I tried while looking for something to replace the first one.
I'm so chiep.

...

Don't think about it, bob!

Because I don't know how to use ImageReady, I make up the animated GIF on layers in Photoshop and use ImageReady just to make it into a GIF and nothing more. It's quite easy.

Listen to War--ImageReady is absolitely beautiful for creating animated banners. Just open your stuff in Photoshop, layers and all, and then click on that big old button on the bottom to switch it to ImageReady. There should be an animation Window you can use to create frames of animation, and you can just hide and show the layers (or scoot 'em around) to make things happen. It's very intuitive, and the animated GIFs it pops out are extremely small. Go for it!

Don't know the link exactly...

But I use the program Unfreez. It's free and pretty darn easy to use.

And if you want something better than Imageready, try using Flash (about 200-300 dollars). With the instruction book and/or the help menu, it's incredibly easy to learn and navigate, and quite effective.

Before I used the GIMP to do this (I plug that program way too much), I used Microsoft GIF Animator. Both work just fine for me....

If you can get Flash, that's a good one, though.

I'm not sure, but I'm doing it in hopes it's the latter. [Signature deleted.]
