<sigh>.....
I try to do stuff like that all the time, with the gradient type shading, and the highlights and stuff, and it always comes out looking shitty. But! I have hope, for everytime, it looks a teensie weensie bit less shitty than the last time.

This thread is zombified!

Here's some lineart I've been working on. It's Brooke from Hawker Reed's "Culture Shock" (http://www.alternatedimension.com) . Still working on the color, but if anyone wants to color it up in the meantime, go right ahead.

Here's the ref pic:

Oh you terribly talented bastard. That's awesome.

One note though. On the foot on our left, shouldn't the line used to define the bottom of the foot be curling upwards to define the ball shape of the heel?

This is fun!

Who wants to color a dinosaur half robot alien thing by me? In it you get to color scales, wood (on the mallet), his steel jaw, and a gemstone that he has set in his skin. Lotta fun.

Have at it, I'd love to see (and learn from) anything you guys might be able to do with this. :)

that's pretty awesome, war, I like the little scale texture lines. The only drawback is it seems too dark on my screen to see the finer details. Still great work though.

Hah yes, it is a bit dark isn't it. Tried looking at it on another monitor and it looks like a big block of black.

lol. Thanks. About the foot ... I don't think so. The ball of the foot isn't that round. It flattens out around the heel. From the side it might look more like a ball, but from the bottom/three quarter view, it looks rather flat.

Nice dragon, TTP. Such a unique design. Reminds me of Gunnerkrigg court in a way. As does flathead's coloring.

o_O I can't believe I didn't see that. This is why I need to post my stuff up. Well, since I got that wrong, maybe I'm wrong about that foot ... What's your opinion on the ball of the foot mentioned by Boogiepop?

nice job beef. leaving some of the blackness out of the metal jaw part woulda made it look "metallier", that's my only crit. rest looks great.
