That's definately where I messed up, but not something I can fix easily at this point. Sorry. This really helped to allow me to better understand how comic-readers eyes work. I'm just now working on the strip following this one, so I'll post it up as soon as I'm done.yeahduff wrote:Saw them both pretty quickly, but only because I was told to look for something.
The hidden quality is OK in the second panel but should definitely not be subtle in the last. We should KNOW at that point. Bigger reflection.
Still... I think I'm enjoying this foul up more than I should. "IT" is going to end up sneaking up on the reader as well as Steve, that is, if the reader doesn't see it in this strip... 8)
whatever that alien/ninja dude is, i would so hit that.
edit: to be a lil helpful; no it's not clear at all, ish. cuz i had to look back at your original piece to see the similarities, but now that i look the ninja/alien dude is waaay neat. the colouring, effects, and linework is all ver professional, and i likey a lot. the expression on his face? cwute. <3!

Haha, his name is Kalki. He's neither a ninja nor an alien. He's an obsolete war machine (tagged for termination), a mute, rogue robot that acts like a hyper monkey, causing mischief. He has an untold vendetta against Steve that I'm going to reveal later, but right now, they're just going to break out into meaningless, sporadic and humorous fights.RA wrote:whatever that alien/ninja dude is, i would so hit that.

Thanks for the art comments; I'm always looking for ways to improve. Oh and sorry (everyone) about not conveying the whole situation better. That's obviously something I need to look into improving on.

Also, on a little side note, I noticed your banner and the image both link to
http://www.tofustyle.com, but when I go there, all I see is a blank white page.

Weird. It may be something w/ your browser or connection. If it IS my DNS, try http://tofustyle.comicgenesis.comivstudios wrote:Also, on a little side note, I noticed your banner and the image both link to

hrm, my pal just told me he's having issues with "www.tofustyle.com" on apple safari. So if you're on a mac, I'm sorry, there isn't much I can really do. other than supplying the true domain above ^

bear in mind that everyones monitors are set up differently. this is why something that looks on one screen great can look wishy washy on another.
etc.
general rule of thumb, with dark things like that, as i see it, is if you have details like that in the background hidden in darkness, and you want them to be spotted, have some light catching them, do them glowing, it might give the game away, but at first glance at that page, most folks are gonna go "huh?" and on some monitors (im running 2 and on my secondary monitor i can barely see it with full brightness) its gonna be a nightmare.

I saw it, but like was mentioned before, a better placement of the reflection might've helped. However, I think it's probably just as cool that its there but you don't (definitely) really know it until the next page. Having it there is more important than it being obvious. Makes the next page more of a surprise. Plus, people can go back and look at the first page you posted and get that "OHH!" feeling when they realize it was all right there.
Man... I really need to replace my monitor. Even with maximum brightness, I can't see ANYTHING in the second panel until I copy it into photoshop and crank up the brightness there. Plus I'm seeing a screen flicker as I'm typing... grumble.
