Draconic Wars

Post by Tiranaki »

Hey Apis-san!

(First off, I was told that san ment cute in Japanese, am I right or wrong? I know that kawaii also means cute... ok, I've also heard people use chan after a name, what do these things mean! o.0) Ahem... I wanted to comment on the installment on the Draconic Wars. As I was reading I kept thinking, "ok, Apis' comic is great, it really is, but now I know why it's so good." It's got a solid and well written storyline backing it up. I'm picky about what I read, and Apis, if you ever get the oppurtunity to turn the story behind Blatah! into a book, I would gladly buy a copy.

Um well san is one of the honorifics used after names in Japanese, so is chan though I think it's used generally when addressing people who are younger than you are (i.e. kids) kun is used for those around the same age I think and sama is much more respectful than san I think...or something like that...
Um yeah....I'll shut up now....

Thanks Tirana ki, high praise indeed! ^____^ I'm glad that you liked the installment on the Draconic Wars. I was a bit concerned people would find it too wordy. Primarily, I am a writer, not an artist. Blatah is in fact a novel in progress which I felt I wanted to explore a different way, so I started the webcomic. ;) There are several chapters written on it, including some which didn't appear in the comic, and some that have yet to take place.
It was meant to be written concurrently, but I haven't worked on it much for the past couple of months, life having become a bit hectic. ^_~ But yes, Blatah does have an overarching plot, and it begins unraveling from this point forward.

About your other question -
"San" is an honorific. YOu use it with friends, coworkers, bosses, etc. Some times with close friends or those younger than you you can use "chan" but this is usually left for young kids (sticks tongue out at Rill)

"Kun" serves roughly the same function as chan, but it is usually only applied to boys.

Anda "kawaii" does mean cute. :P hope that helped? ;)
