Kitealiya blinked and looked up as Skye entered. She smiled somwhat sleepily and waved to her, but immeditly perked up when she was informed there was a storm on the way.
"Storm? Oh, yay, we haven't had one of those in ages." she said brightly and stood up from where she had been sitting, pouring over some ancient prophecy as she did at times. "Have we started taking preparations? Secured the sails, that kinda thing?" she asked Skye as she came to stand beside her.

Kai nodded to Lynk and left towards the higher deck. he strode up the steps to the wheel (Whats the pirate steering wheel called?)

Julius listened to the sound of the driving rain, slamming hard against the Upper deck and against the window panes. Sighing, he stood up and walked to the nearest window and peered out into the semi darkness, illuminated only by the occaisional bolt of lightning. The waves were beginning to get larger, and the ship swelled and bucked with the sea....
Pondering what it would be like out there in the the water right now...Julius repressed a shudder unsuccessfully...sharks....Julius's biggest fear. Something the crew knew about but never mentioned. It was a real fear that many sea fairers shared. there is something about the thought of being bitten by row upon row of sharp teeth that just messed with his head........He changed his thinking.........
Thinking about the water reminded him about the cabin boy, so far up in the crows nest, probably freezing...... Julius let him stay there for another 20 minutes, just to let the boy know that he had to do things he didnt like to do....hell they all did. Julius remembered their cargo.....six tonnes of a newly discovered metal, that shone dully in the sunlight, but gleamed like quicksilver in the mooonlight.
He laughed then...not at all worried, he had the finest fighting crew ever assembled, a lethal sidearm at his hip, and a small sword blade made from the wondrous metal.
Each member of the crew were given one of these amazing blades....julius still remembered the look on cabin boy's face when he recieved his own 8 inch dagger.....Julius smiled, perfect teeth showing white...and called out "CABIN BOY!".......-grinning Julius knew the boy would be headed staright for the Galley for some warmth in front of the stove and some hot soup.....
Julius knew that the boy would be safe with Ferrous, as Ferrous had taken personal interest in training the boy. Ferrous was a strange one....he alone had been unhappy about his gift of a new weapon....he took it clumsily in his hands and looked so out of place....................
Then he began to move the sword, in an arcing pattern that seemed little more than a blur or polished silver, deftly thrusting and turning, parrying an imaginary foe, ceasing to move so suddenly it took Julius by surprise.
It was then the Julius offered Ferrous the role of Weaponsmaster.
To his stunned surprise Ferrous turned him down.."death is not what i enjoy, i am a chef and i create meals, not kill people" was his answer. At that he walked away from Julius and has barely spoken since. Strange man, but filled with an inner power.......
If the time comes that Ferrous is forced to use it...then may the Sea Gods have mercy on any who cross his path!

Yutogi never minded crows nest duty..in fact it gave him a chance to escape for awhile...but this storm!....lightning blasted into the water not even twenty metres away and the rain was lashing his face and hands like icy nails.
"Please Captain let me come down!?" he said out loud to no-one.
He hoped Ferrous had some lamb broth or some sort of hot meal ready for him....he was starving and cold and wet and wanted to be in front of the heater...listening to the stories Ferrous told of his travels.
The favorite story was one about the Saw toothed sea slug....-Yutogi laughed- sea slugs! hehe (sea slugs are small, about ten centimetres long with no teeth) Yutogi was street wise enough to know that Ferrous was more than likely embellishing the story...for story telling sake! a sea slug isnt all that scary after all, but he enjoyed listening anyway.
Yutogi laughed again, and the giggling warmed him a little. It was more the memory of the way Ferrous told the story, all animated in his face and arms moving like he was still fighting the beast!
From the gloom he heard "CABIN BOY!"....puh "cabin boy! yourself CAPTAIN!" he thought sarcastically...no way he would ever say this in front of the Captain, or even behind his back. The crew were fiercely loyal to the Captain and a stowaway cabin boy would nnot be missed if he 'accidentally ' went overboard.
Yutogi knew that he could leave the 'nest' and return to the Galley, hopefully for some hot soup, or a good meal of fish and vegetables.....
Yutogi climbed down quickly from the nest and ran to the galley door....there was Ferrous, standing in front of the stove with a small pot of soup....hopefully for him!?

Yutogi entered the galley and walked in behind Ferrous, saying hello as he peered into the pot...mmm soup! his stomach growled....
Ferrous heard the growl and looked directly at him....you know your chores, before you eat!
Yutogi groaned...and strolled into the storeroom and grabbed the broom. He began sweeping the dust off the floor, and sweeeping it towards the fire place, where the dust and rubbish could be burnt away. ferrous had his back to Yutogi, so he swept the floor really hard, flinging alot tof the dirt towards the crates of unopened goods at the end of the storeroom......
"I saw that!" Ferrous roared...
Yutogi jumped, wincing at his wrong doing 'please dont make me go without food!' he thought. His stomach rumbled again, in agreeance with that.
"sweep it all up, and then you can mop, just because you did that!"
Yutogi knew better than to complain and went about sweeeping the mess up again.....it was then that he heard the hushed voices.....
Underneath the Galley was the underbelly of the ship, an area were few were allowed and were the foolish went to avoid the Captains anger. Yutogi listened......
".....need to keep Ferrous away from things, he's more than the Captain knows.....he could be trouble for us and interfere with plans"
another voice resonated out from the darkness, deep and unforgiving as the ocean...a powerful voice that gave Yutogi the chills.....
" i know of what he is....he must be kept away from the fighting, lest we lose the battle. Take the Captain and the !1st Mate, leaderless the crew wont be able to focus. I will....." the voice trailed away a little, as thought the speaker had turned to another....
Yutogi strained to hear more, it was then that ferrous walked into the store...looking for him and wondering why he was on the floor...... Yutogi motioned for him to come over quietly, Ferrous knwoing instinctively that something was wrong and trusted Yutogi......got down on the floor beside him to listen....
the vioices had trailed away only slightly......" you know your jobs, do it well and be rewarded.......Fail..... and face my wrath" this was the third voice speaking, even more foreboding and power filled than the second one. the voices stopped, and the sound of footsteps leading away could be heard.
Yutogi stood up, and ferrous foloowed quickly, "what did you hear before i got there?" Ferrous had a dark look about him as he listened to Yutogi's words.......
Ferrous moved into the Galley and picked up Yutogi's dagger and handed it to him. "keep it on you at all times, never let it out of your sight...EVER! do you understand Yutogi?" Stay here and eat your dinner...i need to speak with the Captain right know!" with that he dissappeared through the Galley entrance.
"yes Ferrous" he replied dutifully...."but tell me whats going on?" his words fell on empty air...Ferrous had gone. Sighing Yutogi knew something was wrong....he had eaten dinner with everyone of the crew on this ship, and had never heard those voices before...meaning they had been boarded, whether by Pirates or by an enemy trader he did not know. He slid his dagger into its sheath and sat down to eat his soup.

Kitealiya stood on the deck of The Drunken Mermaid...well tried to stand on the deck on the Mermaid that it. Even she, having lived at sea for longer than she could remember was having trouble staying upright as the ship dipped and bucked in the stormy weather. It really was a bad storm! Her eyes were narrowed against the constant sheet of rain that was pelting down upon her crew and quite suddenly she found herself slipping to one side. Captain Krazy scrambled to regain her footing and thought glumly to herself not a very captain-like thing to do, Kite. Kite was constantly tryingto remain in a captain sense of mind, but sometimes her real, less...serious part of herself showed through quite clearly. It seemed to her like this was one of these times.
"Umm..." she started quitely to herself and then forced her voice louder over the rain, "I think it may be a good idea to either get everyone inside, or try to battle through this bloody storm towards the nearest island." She yelled, turning to Skye. "What do you think?"
OOC: -.-;; It seems that Kite is quite un-captain like in her decisions today. But I think I know what I want to strivetowards here. Quick question: do these guys actually know about the medallion yet???

Skye walked towards where the wheel (?) was held. The steerer, a young 16 year old boy fought control while rain lashed about, soaking them all until they were wet and shivery. Skye struggled to kept all this hidden under a cool demeanour. The only person who saw beneath her calm and collected facade was Kite. Skye always tried to be organised to make sure the ship did not fall apart and with her leadership it never did. "Lyte! Are you going alright?" Skye yelled over the howling winds. Even though he was young, Lyte was their best steerer (OOC: Skyes the navigator) and always followed orders and had often gotten them out of rough spots similiar to this one before."Yes. miss" he struggled to concentrate on her through the pelting rain.
"Good! i'm going to see the captain! Stick it out and if you need help just call but youre doing a good job!" Lyte blushed even in the rain from Skye's compliment. Skye strode somewhat swayingly towards where Kite occupied the deck. She helped steady her friend and nodded, looking up into the dark clouds overhead. "We should try to head towards the nearest island so we can then recover and repair any damage. Lyte is going alright up there. You can go inside Kite and I'll stay out here and make sure we dont snag anything if you want. This storms getting nasty. Not that you couldn't handle it of course" Skye joked and smirked as Kite nearly fell over again.

Kai went into the galley and spoke to the other crew there.
"Ryan, Valkyr, Sai." Tonight we are going to break the Spanish blockade any objections," Kai spoke with captain stature and confidence but really just hungered for the sight of blood.
"No cap'n fine here," Ryan spoke first Fidiling with some gunpowder.
"No objections sir," Valkyr said confidently.
"All good," came from Sai
"No problem," Said Jekkus Throwing knives at his homemade dartbord.
"Good," Kai said with a nod to all of them "We should be there in just over an hour,"
Kai walked back up to the small quarters of the navigator
"Hey lynk you there yet?" Kai said he poked his head around the door to see the young navigator with a compass and pencil scribbling somthing down.

"Ok we were here," He pointed toth map "And we have been traveling south for about 3 houres and 15knots (Is that fast or slow) so we shoud be aboooouuuuut. Here," His finger stopped "So all we need to do is divert coarse a little to the west,". I'll go and tell Saphire.
Kai left for the upper deaks to speak with his sister.

Only about ten minutes later, Kite found herself grimly holding onto a wooden post to stop herself been thrown across the deck. It seemed as though the rest of the crew were having just as much trouble staying upright, even the big, boulder-like Bubbles was having trouble.
There was only one thing that filled the captain with hope- she could see the closest island drawing all the more closer with each passing minute. They would be there soon.

Skye nearly fell over on deck, slipping slightly as she steadied herself. As she looked out to see she noticed they were drawing closer to a small island. Peering at it she turned slightly to the left and noticed a similiar one, different in shape but situated close by. She pulled out the damp piece of parchment from her coat and studied it before slipping it back inside. Practically sliding her way over to where Kite was gripping the railing she leaned close even though no one would have been able to hear them over the storm anyway and said quietly. "That island may actually be the one we are looking for." Hoping Kite would understand her meaning.
