fine, i'll start one by myself with my imaginary friends... you all can join in whenever you want to!
------------------------------------
Simple rules:
Don't write TOO MUCH. Try to READ and UNDERSTAND (haha) everything before you post. It's kind of hard to deal with inaccuracies because somebody wasn't paying attention to something someone else wrote. But if mistakes happen, be understanding.
I know one thing about chain stories is that people could post at the same time, which leads to confusion. If you're working on a post, feel free to put a pre-post letting people know you're putting one up. Don't leave pre-posts unless you expect to post within the next five minutes however. If you're taking more than five minutes to post, then your segment is TOO LONG!

Rule continued:
Also, begin your posts with a label number.
The first post will start with #1, the second #2 and so on and so on. You people do know how to count right? (I hope so!) This way, if two people post at around the same time, we can tell. The general rule will be that we will follow the post that happened first.
Number only your posts however, don't put numbers on pre-posts or comments. Okay, that should be it. Simple right?

'Are you alright?' Makani asked her.
'Yes. Of course!' Keiko said, 'You're here with me. No matter how bleak life is, I have you.'
Makani had a hard time believing those words. One moment, she was looking at the horizon, with a face like one who's lost all of life. The next is so different, but yet the same. There's a smile, but it seems so empty.
'Come on, lets go!' Keiko said as she went back to the car.
Makani looked across the ocean and down to the waters. 'What is going on in her head?' he thought to himself. 'I know there's so much she isn't telling me. So much of her that I don't understand.'
The car honked. Makani turned his head to see Keiko sitting at the wheel of the convertable. She had her shades on and began to turn the car to drive.
'Hey! I'm coming, I'm coming!'

i'm in this mood because'...
Keiko paused and sighed. How am I suppose to tell him? What words can I use to make it easier for him... and for me? What words are there at all?
'i mean, it's just that...'
I need to tell him. I have to tell him. I have an obligation, a responsibility. I need to just stop and tell him that I'm thinking of...

"I'll check it out" Makani said. "You stay right here." And he hopped out the car.
Keiko laid back and turned her head to the sky. 'Oh how am I going to explain this to him?' She thought to herself... She looked over to the road, and Makani was nowhere to be found!
She jumped up and looked around the car. Nothing!? She ran out to the road, the wooden container was still there, except the lid was off.
"Makani! This isn't funny!" She yelled!
"What isn't funny girl?" a voice said! A black shape came out of the box and grabbed Keiko around the waist. She was lifted up into the air and held there. Keiko kept struggling and struggling. She looked down and saw it was shaped like a long arm, coming from a swirling green-ness in the container. The arm retracted, pulling Keiko in. Keiko felt her skin burn and stretch as she passed through the portal.
"Muahahahahahha!"

#11 in an open field. Well it looked like a field, but something was very different. Keiko was standing ankle deep in what felt and looked like white marshmallow. It was soft and beckoned her to lie in it. Keiko was bewildered by her calmness.
The golden rule... Treat others as you would wish to be treated.

Why is the sky smiling?
"What-is 'sky', *young mushroom*?" An omnious voice proclaimed.
"Wait wait wait... Who are you?" Keiko said to the face in the sky.
"What-do *I* *seem* to-be, *young mushroom*?"
"You look like a face? A face in the sky? Or rather, your face seems to BE the sky?" Keiko answered.
"But, what-is 'sky'?"
"It's... the opposite of the ground? It is the vast space that lies above everything"
The face chuckled. "There-is-no opposite of that-which-doesn't-exist. Where *young mushroom* *becomes*, ground does-not-exist, 'sky' does-not-exist, up, down, *horizontality* also does-not-exist. Only *being* is."
"So what is this place? Who are you?" Keiko asked.
"I *became* *the field-tender*. Here, I *camp* *Young mushroom* are *happy camper*? Would *young mushroom* *prefer* to *camp* here?"
"Wait? What is a 'happy camper' and why do you call me 'young mushroom'?"
"*young mushroom* is *young mushroom*, thus *young mushroom* is called. Here I *became* *camping*, would *young mushroom* *prefer* to *camp* also?"
"I... I guess so?" Keiko did not know how to respond.
"Very good. I *become* *gardener* again. *everything* shall *see* again. *young mushroom* will *bloom* soon. Goodbye"
"Wait!" Keiko yelled at the sky-face-thing, but it dissapeared, leaving a night sky filled with stars. Keiko found herself in a green field. So many questions, Keiko thought to herself. I might as well head...

Side note about *words*. It comes from a computer game called "Starcontrol II", and is the manner in which the alien race, the Orz, speak. They are a culture so radically different from ours (they come from a totally different dimension i think) that language is hardly incompatable. Words between asterisks are the 'best translatable equivalent'. Basically, it's the closest word to match what is actually being said. Now, while the 'sky' replaces the word "you" with *young mushroom*, it's because in it's culture, it sees Keiko as, a young mushroom. Just like how we call children 'child' or we use pronouns 'you' 'him' 'me'. So when the sky says "*young mushroom* is *young mushroom*, thus *young mushroom* is called so", a loose translation would be "you are you! So that's why I call you 'you'!"
I've already said too much and given away too much of the mystery. I'll stop now...

I might as well head... wait? Keiko stood around for a while... there weren't any landscapes, no discernable pattern of stars in the sky. The moon was there, but right above her. "I might as well just walk then" Keiko thought to herself... She spun around for a while until she was dizzy. She headed off in whatever direction her head stopped at...

Keiko was looking straight down! A long, narrow tunnel enveloped her. She was falling.. falling...... falling...
Keiko jerked her head up in a start. She was still in her convertable, and drool had hardened on her steering wheel. She was cold with sweat. She could feel her entire body tingling with this chill that had come over her. "Keiko!" Makani said. "Are you alright!?" She rubbed her eyes and slowly came to. Looking around she realized that it was now much later than it was earlier. The box was not in the middle of the road. In fact.. Where was the road? Keiko and Makani were in a small wood.. She had crashed the red convertable into a tree!!
"Oh Makani!!!" she cried. "I...

makani! I..." Keiko paused... "Wake up!" Makani was slumped over in his seat. Keiko was afraid that he was dead, she reached over and shook him "Makani!"
He stirred a little and woke up. "Oh my head" Makani groaned. "What happened here?"
Keiko paused for awhile. Should I ask him about the box?
"When did you crash the car? We stopped on the side and I went to look at a box" Makani looked around. "Are you alright?"
Keiko replied "I don't remember how I crashed it either... just"
Makani interuppted her "What happened to your neck? Ohmygosh!" He pulled her collar down a little. There was a red burn wrapping around her body, starting at the neck and swirling down to her waist.
Keiko told Makani about the black arm from the box... but not about the talking sky. She really wondered why she didn't say anything about it... Not as if things weren't crazy enough already, but it just didn't seem right... And Keiko didn't really know what happened either, and was quite unsure of the words to use to describe it to Makani.
Makani didn't know what to say about the black arm. They sat there for a minute or two wondering whether they were crazy. "I guess there's no use sitting here, we might as well check to see if the car is okay." Makani finally said.
They got out of the car and found that the car wasn't as bad as they thought it was. Only cosmetic damage, nothing internal was broken. They sat down at the base. "Oh, what a day" Keiko said out loud. "Are we dreaming?"
Makani was silent for a while, and then he said "All life is a dream isn't it? Let's rest here for a little while though, I'm extremely tired"
Keiko played with the grass a little. The green blades felt soft against her fingers, and suddenly, little white mushrooms popped out. Keiko let out a gasp and pulled her hand away...

'What on Earth?' Keiko thought. What was going on? Was she still dreaming? Or was all of this real? The grass, car, Makani, and even the sky began to melt away. Keiko was drifting in a colourless void...
And once again she was lying on the strange marshmellow field, looking up at the smiling face in the sky. "How do *young mushroom* like *camping*?" It asked. "Do *young mushroom* like *young mushroom*'s new *way of growing*?" At this, Keiko was confused, and getting really creeped out. She stood up and reached her hand out towards the smiling sky. Her arm was a pale white, and her fingertips were a dark, earthy brown! What was going on!?? Reaching out with her other hand, which had similar changes, she felt her skin, which now felt rubbery... Like a.. Mushroom!
Keiko woke up on the grass beside Makani. Her car was still wrecked. Everything was the same, except the sun was up, and the sky was shining blue. She was confused. What was happening? What was happening to Keiko? She was changing.
Once again she ran her fingers through the soft, green grass. And once again, little white mushrooms appeared. <i>'Thankyou for *camping* with me, *young mushroom*'</i> she thought she heard a voice within her say.
Keiko suddenly became aware of what was going on. Suddenly she saw her aura, which was a bright, white colour. She looked softly at her good friend Makani, and saw his aura of light blue. He was still sleeping peacefully.
