This may not be as fake as everyone is assuming. Note that aside from a "Lost + Found" box, the counter also contains a box of wax rhapsodies.

It may just my caffeine-addled mind playing tricks on me, but Mr. Gartman looks very similar to BJ's photo on the Creator page.
I was wondering when Beej would put himself into the strip.

Actually, he's one of the supervisors where I work. He suggested a couple months ago that I put more violence in my strip.
Marc and his wife Rachel (who will appear next week) were in the store today, and she was only too eager to offer suggestions of what to do to him. Things involving swords and fire. *shudder*
------------------

As much ass I'd like to see a "Jackie's Fridge Murder Mystery", something tells me this is more likley Gartman's idea of a pick-up line. And we wonder why there seems to be no Mrs Gartman!
-Octapus

Oh, yes!
This is going to be too, too sweet. The Gartman's are probably your standard "wonderfully horrible" husband and wife team, along the lines of Diana Trent and Tom Ballard from "Waiting for God". Naturally, they will have the characteristics of pranksters through to the core, and delight in throwing people off balance.
Aaaas for the whole "She's GORGEOUS, Gartman'll eat her alive!" quote, I think adding that they're swingers to the description wouldn't necessarily be taking things too far...
But I could be wrong.
My prediction for friday:
Mr. Gartman: Oh, hello. Did I scare ya?
Ada: Yeu sure did! Whot ahn arth was that fer?
Mr. Gartman: Sorry. We're gearing up for Halloween!
Ada: Boht that was last month!
Mr. Gartman: See! We've only got 11 months to prepare!
Ada: Well, e'tis pretty realistic...
--
Enter Mrs. Gartman, holding her own severed head.
--
Mr. Gartman: What did I tell you?
Mrs. Gartman: Hah. Mine's better.

You're right, I had totally forgotten that part. Well, I;m just o nthe edge of my swivel-chair awaiting the next installment, where we perhaps meet the Mrs Gartman and see what's in store for poor Ada. After all, the jerls at the hotel seem to worried it can;t just be Gartman's unothadox way of greeting people. Perhaps the Gartman;s will turn out to be Amway distributers!
-Octapus_E
-I forsee the possible return of Ada's claymore.
