Now I'm nosing around my website, and realize I need to sweep up some dustbunnies. I'll be reworking the front page to a minor degree to move the DJ week banner off, and try to get the pageload size down. Anyone with l337 html skillz, advice is welcomed!
Also, I need to update my art page to include some new items. Some of the links to fanart source sites are dead.
Speaking of dead links, I'll be pruning my links page, as about more than half of my linked comics are defunct or hiatused'd. I need some new comics to link to.
I also need to update the storyline list and get the dropdown up to date. Shouldn't be hard.
Anyone with aforementioned skillz might also consider sprucing me up with a new newsbox entry. If you luvved me. Or... not.
Sniffle.

There... I've relocated the buttons on the main page (and eliminated the Home button, I mean, what kind of jackass has a link to his homepage on his homepage?!?), so that the comic will fit on both resolution screens. I've also eliminated the voting thingie and the DJ week banners. This really tightened up the front page, and I'm pretty happy with it.
Also, I cleaned out the Keen@Work dropdown. There are other marginally defunct strips on the list, but their owners are not officially on hiatus (kind of like me a couple weeks ago), and/or they have a large body of archives. Also added Decypher to the list.
I've updated the storylines dropdown. I can't believe I've already added that many since I restarted. Where's the time going?
I tried to update the Art page to add the two Cinderblock pieces, but I screwed something up, and it didn't load. Maybe I'll try again tonight.

Thanks, man!
I know I've never been an artist, am not overly concerned about proportions and getting the human body accurately rendered, nor am I ever likely to. However, one thing I've strived for in Sawdust from the very beginning is to make characters which are easily distinguishable and recognizable. So many strips have characters which all basically look the same. I think I got this bent from the first webcomic I read regularly, Avalon. I pretty much learned how to draw by copying his style, but realized in a hurry that each of his characters were pretty much the same, just with different hair and costumes. I didn't want that. So, I guess you can say that I try to characature more than to cartoon. I've noticed the ease with which other artists have rendered my characters in fanart and guest strips (especially Tub), and I think it might be because of this.
So, for something less serious, here's a pic of me last halloween!

I got a review on the Keenspace General Forum, and what I read on the whole made me feel good about the strip. The major message was that it was a good comic strip, which is all I needed to hear. The major complaints fell into the website design category, which I intend to work on.
I have put the new navigation buttons on the tops of each of the pages, finally replacing the original cameo style buttons.
I discovered that my archives page is totally fisked. I need to find the tagtorials to remake it. Anyone know the tag for the big calendar???
I also intend to go back and resize all of my comic strips into something more compressed, and make sure all my graphics are in gif format, to keep the pageload time down.
Outside of that, there isn't much I can do about my art. I'm not an artist, though I do feel like my artwork is easier on the eyes than some of the lineart style strips which have come out recently (or not so recently).
Also, big note on the links page... MANY OF MY LINKED COMICS ARE ABOUT TO BE DUH-LEET-TED. On the chopping block are On the Job, Cinderblock (sniffle), Decorative Edison, Hotel Grim, and VotS. I'll be surfing more in the near future to replace them with other deserving comics. Like Star Bored or Night and Day, etc.

Ok, more housekeeping news.
The Archives page is now fixed. I used a newer version of archiving which archives by storyline and strip title. This is basically the same info as in the dropdown box beneath each strip, but all spread-out-like. I did this partially because many people never notice the dropdown box, but mostly because most people can't actually use the calendar style archive to any degree of utility. When looking for a specific comic, you generally don't know its date... so it's a wild stab anyways. I think this is more useful.
But I also kept the calendar beneath the storylines just in case.
I also re-worked the way I do my copyright, so that it's text and not a bandwidth-chewing graphic.
All that's left at this point is to re-do my links page, and then try to recompress my old archived comics to reduce the filesize. I've been working the last six or so comics with the lower filesize versions, and I don't think I've lost any quality.
Mmmm.... I'm also thinking about weeding out all the filler strips and guest art from the archives. All of my gift art is on the Art page anyway, and I can make a separate section on the Art page for my fillers, like the Sawdust Gazette stuff, which I still think are funny. This will allow regular navigation of my site to be without hiccup.
