Is it, Zan... Is it really that different? XD I've been to England! At least, I sat in Heathrow or whatever that airport is called for a layover to Italy and my friends apparently saw 'Nsync. x.x I was just like, "Hmmm... Good... I guess..." But I bought the british copy of the fourth HP book and it was pritty. ^^

Anyway... *cackle* Uh oh, Zan... the rabid Marius fan girls might come after you now! I loved the "Um... I forget your name..."

Is that French... ehehehe...

Must go to school now

How odd...
My first thought (okay, one of them) on seeing this was, "Marius is hot. Too bad he only likes girls." And I was disappointed. Then I did the doh! smack self in forehead thing. I am a girl! Shouldn't that please me?
Is it all this yaoi I've been reading? No, wait, is it all this yaoi I've been writing? (Darn 1st person sex scenes from a male's point of view.... that'll do something to your head, I'm sure.)
Then I came up with an excuse.... It's my philosophical objection to monosexuality. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it. Yes sir. It's not that I'm confused....
Tee hee... Catholic school girls. I find Catholic boys and girls cute.... If done right. Isn't it a fun religion? One of my favorite brands of Christianity. Much more aesthetically appealing than most.

*more snicker* yes, I think it is the yaoi. I have something of the same problem. Course, the girl could just be a cover. *wink* He and Simon are actually gay lovers. O.o And there's my random theory of the day.

I don't like Catholocism... The whole religion was designed to keep the lower classes in their place, by saying that if they listened to what the priests told them and did all sorts of good things and never complained about taxes they could go to heaven. And it's such an excusee for people to be bigoted. I have nothing again Catholics, just as long as they're not homophobic assholes. I don't like any homophobic assholes.

boy, i'm glad eddie izzard had an act about religion in england... you'll have to go listen to the whole deal he has on his site. http://www.izzard.com he's wonderful. he's a british transvestite! yay! whenever someone says something about catholics i think "catholocism; we believed in cathol and all his teachings". it's wonderful. he goes from talking about stonehenge and british religion to comparing scooby doo to shakespeare to developing the heimlich manuever. greatness.
the other thing i wanted to say was that i love how you said "brand of christianity"! i've never heard that before. it's fun!

Well, you know what, Ciaan? Your 'tude towards straight guys is comforting to me, in a way. It kinda balances out the jerks who say "He's gay? What a waste!!" Aaagh! That makes me so mad! Anyway. Yes. ahem. Rabid Marius fangirls. eeek. I really hope they don't come after me for what I'm about to do...

And um... I'm going to refrain from telling my views on Catholicism or any other kind of religion.. I just think this would be a good time to say that I personally have no sort of bias toward any kind of monotheism in particular, mostly because I am not monotheistic, and I find that I can look at them objectively. I think that in most cases, religion itself is allright. It's just when people use religion as a tool for other perposes than making themselves happy, (like beating down on others, and gaining political/ethical power and such) in that case, religion is a bad thing. But it's because people inherently use good things as weapons.
end of Zan's rant.

I am absolutely not monotheistic. I just find religion fascinating. I like to study about what people believe, and when people believe weird stuff, I like that.
Note that I didn't say I agreed with Catholicism, I said it was interesting and aesthetically pleasing. I also find evil aesthetically pleasing. That's a phrase I use for things I think are exciting but don't agree with.
Ever watched a movie that was very well done, and you liked watching it, and it drew you in, but it was depressing, and you wouldn't want to see it again, or meet any of the characters? That's what I mean- aesthetically pleasing.
I dunno. If people have only been exposed to the fundamentalist aspects of religion, it can be bad. But a really cool look at comparative religion... That's awesome.
Catholicism has this great bit of love mixed with loathing, that isn't fun to have, but can be fun to watch. Like a depressing movie.

Ciaan-- (upon reading my reply to you again) Sorry--I wasn't attacking you there.
There aint nothin wrong with what you said. I was just preaching again (hahahah.. preaching) But I totally understand your aesthetic principle. I find quite disturbing things wonderful and interesting, even if I would not practice them, according to my ethics. Take the movie Quills. No, don't.. I need to watch it 8 more times. ^^

Anyway. Oh good god, don't tell me I'm turning someone STRAIGHT!!! Aagh!! *runs away to self-flog* The inversion! The deviance! The SIN!
Hoo. Ok, I'm over it. ^^

(No offense to the poor mistreated heterosexuals, MISTER HED! Sorry, inside reference.)

Nah, I didn't think you were attacking me, Zan. We're just having a discussion, on one of my favorite subjects, and I think we basically agree. (You know, you're the third Zan I've met. Although I guess I haven't met you per se. But the others were Zann (short for Suzanne) and Xan (short for Alexandra).)
Oh, and ravenine, I listened to the Eddie Izzard thing..... That was indeed very very hilarious.

Izzard = God. I am allowed to say this 'cause I've met him. And seen him naked, but that's a whole 'nother story...

Really?
I always thought Neil Gaiman was God.
Or maybe it's Momus.
Or something.

No, I think Eddie Izzard would make a wonderfully amazing God. He's the funniest man in the world. Alison, how on earth did that come about? O.o
