Damn, that was dangerously close to "heartwarming"
On the other hand, little Sugar Monkey's behavior could be seen as scary. It's a short trip from this scene to talking with your finger and writing "redrum" on the walls, really.

Yes, but instead of prescient and protecting, like Tony from "The Shining," Sugar Monkey's voice-in-the-head is just overly consumerist.
