Squidge in a packet?
I might be jumping the gun here, but that looks like squidge's hand sticking out of Quentyn's purse (Or at least some other bogeyman). I wonder when he got in there

Maybe Colin decided to have some fun?Richter B. wrote:now I'm wondering what the little guy was doing in there in the first place?? wasn't he hanging with colin??
Or maybe the lure of Quentyn's silver was more than Squidge could withstand?
(Remember, he likes shiny objects)

Okay, I've heard of people going to the city and having money stolen from their purses, but never having their money stolen by their purse!

also, imagine what the clerks expression must be like!

Yup. Though it would have been fun if Squidge was in with the stuff that got stolen. It would have been an interesting surprise for anyone who opened the bag to a P.O.ed Bogeyman.shyal_malkes wrote:I sense yet another few set of options just opened up for quentyn to get wildcard back.

It's not Squidge. It's another monster, one that I have had attack me. It is called the IRS. It does the same thing. Takes money out of your wallet screaming "MINE".
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Yes it is......the local currency seems to be copper, silver and gold beads and rings.
What I'd like to know is the denominations....how many beads = 1 ring, How many copper beads to 1 copper ring, 1 silver ring, or 1 gold ring?
How many copper rings = 1 silver or gold ring? How many silver rings = 1 gold ring?
This is what I'd like to know.

A more important question (to the reader, at least) is "What can Squidge do to help Quentyn this time?"

My guess is that it's an octal system. 8 beads to a ring (four digits per hand). Copper to silver to gold ratios are a bit trickier to be sure of - it's far more likely to depend on the relative scarcity of the metals. Might be 1 copper ring to a silver bead, or it might be 8. Ditto silver to gold. I'd guess the former, though; figure the copper bead equates to a penny, so if Quentyn was going to give Squidge a gold ring it wouldn't likely be worth $2600. $5.12 is much more reasonable. (8 beads = 1 copper ring = 1 silver bead. 8 silver beads = 1 silver ring = 1 gold bead = 64 copper beads. And then 1 gold ring = 512 copper beads.)Sharuuk wrote:Yes it is......the local currency seems to be copper, silver and gold beads and rings.

When quentyn bought all that junk off of max, his father said that he'd been cheated out of "every last ingot" he owned

question is, is this simply a turn of phrase? Or are ingots part of their currency system? (like $100 notes?)
