Get Ye Down (5/12)

Post by TGIF »

I must say that the look on her face as she confronts the monster is enough to make it think twice before doing anything, power or no power.

And needless to say, the green glow is bigger, brighter and more "real" than it has ever been before, so she isn't just relying on her stern looks.

For a young child to show such determination in such danger is quite amazing in and of itself. Aside from her powers, this girl is something else!

Instead of considering himself nagged or pursued, I'd say our Questor would be lucky if she manages to hook up with up.

Fortunately, since Lux means "light"... Maybe it has no "dark side"?

This was an exceptional episode - It leaves me worrying whether she'll hurt herself by overextending her power after nearly draining herself the evening before, or whether she'll simply grow stronger through the effort, or whether she simply won't be able to control the mudgullet...!

And then there's the question of all that gold.

This is prime quality cliffhanger material. Thanks, Ralph!

Far as I know, the Questorverse magic system has no "dark side" to it. The magic simply exists, like a gun, and is neither inherently evil nor good. It all depends on whether it's used by a wizard like Rillcreek or an evil Fakir bent on dominating humans.

It the use it is put to, and not the magic itself, that must be judged. Lux simply exists.

Which is a good thing too, 'cause nobody wants to deal in dark stuff on accident...
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

I can't really say that the lux power seems like light magic....
nor dark...

It just seems like it just is power???

I think what makes it seem like dark or light is all depending on how it is used?? like a dark wizard using it would obviously be called "dark"
magic, while a priest using it to heal someone would be called "light"
magic.....

but in accuality it is both the same thing???

strange wolf seems to have a better bead on how to exsplain it than me.....

Good evening.

The Gragum mage did appear to be using Lux for evil purposes.

And sorry about the mechanical breathing thing, it's just a little quirk of mine I come up with anytime someone important and/or powerful shows up (not necessarily in the Dark Side), lol...

i.e.:
President Bush walks into a room.
[mechanical breathing]

also:

President Fox walks into a room.
[mechanical breathing]

and:
(any state governor) walks into a room.
[mechanical breathing]

So what would Nessie's particular trade be called?

Well, technically she isn't employed so she technically doesn't have a trade...
That minor knee-jerk point aside:
-Animal trainer? (I can't imagine they have anything too fancy as a title for something so common... even if she happens to be rather skilled at it.)
-Far Kenner? (I beleive she has farther range than any previously known... but is there a medium level, much greater than average but still much less than what she can do? IE would they even have an established term for this?)

And if the mudgullet obeys her, welllllll...

That's the way
uh-huh, uh-huh
I like it
uh-huh, uh-huh

Don't blame me - I didn't start this!

I never liked that music... I was glad when it died. But the opportunity to inflict it on others presents too great a temptation to evil to resist...

I did notice that he has already listened to her, at least to the extent that he has already closed his mouth.

Not sure about the spelling... but I WOULD leave of the "-er" I think that is the operator if you leave that suffix on whereas the weapon itself would just be a Boomslang (sp?)

Good evening.

Well, that solves the mystery of how the mudgullet was carrying all the gold.

Now Nessie is going to have to do a LOT of explaining to everyone.

Now that the creature has deposited its treasure, will Nessie lose her influence over it, or will she be able to control it long enough to tell it to leave? I expect most of those Rac Conan will be happy to see it go, but there may be a couple who are thinking, "Fire up the roaster and break out the ale. We're gonna feast on mudgullet tonight!"

That would be a right unfriendly thing to do to something that had served so faithfully... So it got a little confused when it got to its destination and didn't have any further suggestion implanted in its mind on what to do next... Shame on you for even suggesting such an unsportsmanship like betrayal...

No, but seriously, I think that Nessie might think along the above lines (and in her case she would be totally serious about the 'shame on you' part).

Also, I would think she will have no trouble sending it back to its home, she just lost some range 'cause she was tired out, I think she still has all her power, just shorter range.
