One question does come to mind though, won't the weights be atracted to squidge?

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.
the Mystery Racoonan
This is the style of the heros of the 30's pulp novels and old radio shows. They were called the mystery men. Like the Shadow and the Spider . Before

Actually the Shadow (according to the radio shows) didn't have any wild getup. He just hypnotized everyone into not seeing him whenever he needed to move unseen.

Which was rather conveniant, since it was a radio show. But the comic did give the Shadow a distinctive image, which stuck, since invisible heroes are a hard sell...BBlalock wrote:Actually the Shadow (according to the radio shows) didn't have any wild getup. This is getting interesting - first, Quentyn dresses like he stepped out of a 'Robin Hood' movie. Now, he's sporting 'Mystery Man' style, all decked out for a journey into the darkest depths of the city sewer system.
...
I guess he's gone from Questor to 'Tunnel Rac'.

I hope the Governor doesn't see that, Monty! He's already fussed because someone made 'Governator' bobble-head dolls - how do you think he'll react when he sees someone pasted a cartoon raccoon-head on his body?

Actually, I think the biggest reason that Quentyn is still being called 'boy' is that he hasn't asked anyone to stop calling him that yet. It is a term that he is quite familiar with, and as such, may not realize that being called 'boy' may be viewed as a sign of disrespect, given his accomplishments. It may not be intended as such, but it could be seen that way by others. As he grows more confident in his abilities, I think that we will see him assert himself more strongly (as in the last several strips) and ask for the respect he is entitled to, but right now, he is too focused to even notice. I also suspect that Master Rillcreek may pull him aside soon to point this out to him.LoneWolf23k wrote:Apparantly, Quentyn needs a PR Agent. Don't forget that those who asks for respect are those who are less likely to deserve it, or to get it.
(I have very little respect for those who demands being treated with respect)
Quentyn may not want to force the issue to avoid soundling like a spoiled brat...

Thanks! Just a quick cut-and-paste done in Gimp.Yuoofox wrote:Very nice job, UncleMonty.
I converted the artwork to grayscale, resized it to fit, boosted the contrast to match the photo, and that was about it. I wasted too much time removing the "squidge-glow" from Quentyn's bandanna, considering that the conversion to grayscale pretty much wiped it out anyway.
True. This may all soon be moot, however - crawling down a hole to face innumerable wights and destroying the nexus that maintains them may gain him the general respect he already deserves. Then again, some people will use the most convoluted logic to convince themselves that there never was any real danger...Anthony Lion wrote:Don't forget that those who asks for respect are those who are less likely to deserve it, or to get it.
