Here's a quick poll, just for fun.

So far the oarman leads everyone 2 votes to all zeros. But of course, all those other guys got spears, magic, guns, or swords, he was ready to lay the smackdown on the gator-taurs using only an oar! Fuzzy logic? maybe...but then again, so is my avatar. :P
Sorry to jet, but I'm in a hurry!

My pick? The captain, if only because he fits my definition of courage:

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but perseverence in the face of it." - Strange Wulf (Thought I'd put my real name, didn't you?)

In other words, it's pulling out your sword and chopping off that nasty dragon's head when you feel like just standing there and peeing your pants! :o Not an easy thing to do.

The thing is that they're all persevering, its just that the oarman is doing so without a conventional weapon.

Of course I'm sure that oar could be used quite effectivly as a quarterstaff.

I'd love to see the Frog Wizard, or Quentyn, casually say a few words and turn the oar into a really big "wakadoo" or "stun stick". That probably won't happen, but if it did the boatman would be much better armed.
