Lux outside the Seven Villages
How available will lux be to Quentyn, away from the Luxfont? And don't forget, he's a blackbander! I havea feeling he will not be using lux much for awhile.

If its one thing I've found about wrighting, it is that Nothing the auther adds in to the plot is without perpus.
For instance;
Quentyn is a black bander: he dosn't relie on Lux as heavily as some mages or more rounded racconans might and thus wouldn't be as hindered by the lack of a sutable reddily avalable source.
Wild card has a massive draw range: In the seven villages it recharges in hours, but outside it would charge about as quickly as a regular artifact within the Racconan boarders, taking about a day or so to reach full charge, rather then the weeks that regular artifacts would outside the mist wall.
theres probably a lot more I could say, but tea's ready. You get the drift anyway ^_^

So this won't effect Quentyn even if it is true? Ralph probably planned this all along.
Good job.

Both a heart and a brain are necessary for survival. Without one, the other will quickly perish.

Except that the luftgas pump probably also runs on Lux.
There is probably enough around to keep it running as Lux is created by everything living, but if you suddenly have a large drain(say,WC is recharging), then what?
On the other paw, Quentyn demonstrated that they have the technology to store Lux...

I think wildcard is going to be drawing enough lux for both of them, creating a lux dead zone around a battle space. That's got to be an unhappy thing for any wizard that can draw on lux.Tom Mazanec wrote:How available will lux be to Quentyn, away from the Luxfont? And don't forget, he's a blackbander! Exactly, Its like, I guess water is a good comparision, It's usualy everywere. Also remember that while there won't be any artificial supplies of Lux, there aren't going to be nearly as many folk drawing on Lux outside either.
As the Raccona Deihm increased in numbers and consintrated thier populas in larg villages, the demand for Lux exceded the natural supply in these areas. This necesitated the creation of the Lux font. To supply the energy needed by the Raccona Diehm to run thier society.

Flying over a wide stretch of barren land like a desert(artifacts in an ancient temple in the middle of nowhere how likely is that?) could be a problem as well. Not much to draw lux from there(well there's some but not as much).Anthony Lion wrote:Except that the luftgas pump probably also runs on Lux.

Another plot consideration:
There would almost have to be a lot of lux out there, for several reasons:
1) Rac cona used to be all over the place.
2) The items being sold would be of little use to humans, otherwise.
3) The artifacts in question most certainly used lux and would not be of much interest to humans if lux did not exist out there.
