I agree. Pancakes rule - you can make them as thick as you want, and only need a regular frying pan. A Waffle is awful with a capital W.
------------------

This forum is so dead! We need to liven it up a bit. So here it is -- the first completely inane pancakes vs. waffles thread.
So how about it? Which do YOU think is better? Pancakes or Waffles? And why?
As for me, I say pancakes are better, because they are easier to make, and less messy than waffles. And you don't have to deal with all the little ridges and squares that trap syrup and don't allow it to spread all over evenly. So some parts of the waffle end up being too dry, and others too soggy with syrup.
Agree? Disagree? Think I'm completely insane? Tell me!
-Krista
------------------

Although pancakes are much easier to make, waffles rule all. They hold warmth so much better then pancakes and fruit on a waffle is much better then on a pancake. Also with pancakes you've only got the flat pancake. With waffles you have many differnet types of waffles such as Belgium waffles.
Waffles rule all. Deal with it

You can make waffles really crunchy and I like anything that's crunchy!
By the way, I've been following your web comic (not to mention your fanfics), and I think it's great! I'm amazed at your and Michelle's dedication in this especially when you consider the fact that you're not getting any revenues.
Anyway, I, along with many others it seems, enjoy your efforts. Keep up the good work!
-- DarkHorse

I can't eat waffles. They get too soggy with syrup. However I can eat pancakes any time. Though I must admit I prefer French Toast to all of them. Especially with powdered sugar and butter. Mmmmmmmmm. I should go eat now, this talk about food is making me hungry.
------------------

I have to say in a straight out comparison I prefer the crisper taste of the waffle to the flatter taste of the pancake. There is just something about crispy food that is good for the body, the mind, and the soul. Plus I enjoy filling the little holes with syrup. It gives more even distribution of syrup flavor.
On the other hand in the defense of pancake I believe is that the pancake tastes much better than the waffle when an extra flavor is added. Blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes are far superior to their waffle companions.

True, they are crispier - but with their equally sized squares and systematic division of space, waffles are clearly communist.
-Justin
------------------

I think it depends on my situation.
hehe... at home, I make and eat pancakes.
However, at school... if they have waffles, I'd eat waffles cuz I like them better... sometimes, when they're not burnt. >_<
But they ALWAYS have pancakes there... and cereal, milk, sometimes juices, and doughnuts.... lalala....

Hmmm... I love a nice crepe... however; I think you need to experience waffles the way nature intended. Indeed it is a magnificent thing to behold: each square pocket of a lightly crisp golden waffle with just the right amount of butter and sweet sauce held waiting for the opportunity to dissolve on your taste buds.
*Legal Disclaimer*- Eggo's <TM> are NOT waffles and should not be considered in the same category. Perfect waffles are extremely difficult to manufacture or locate and most persons form opinions based on substandard waffles which are not indicative of the experience delivered by a perfect waffle. Waffles may be habit forming and should be avoided by persons suffering from insomnia, death, flatulence, or bad form.

Actually I prefer waffles with their little pockets for syrup, but pancakes are better when they have fruit in the batter, though potato pancakes... those are fun and easy to make, especially right after Thanks giving, though I do have to ad mit a partiality to a good crepe every now and again... *Sighs* I guess this is the post you get from someone home trained in the classical french style... Though if anybody wants some cheap and easy recipies to spice up home cooking and leftovers... boy I know a lot. And Eric could have been cooking anything really since there are a great many things that need to be stirred, but only a clear soup or broth woul leave a relatively clean spoon for the *sword* fight.... Just me rambling... again.
------------------

Personally, I like bacon the best. Truly. Pancakes never did anything for me and they get soggy anyways. I do have to admit that I like waffles in their plain, dry form. A nice handy snack. But still, I like bacon the best. Yummy.

And trailing in from the FFML...okay, I came here from Makenzie's Locker.
On the matter of waffles vs pancakes: Waffles. But only because I can toast the suckers and make PB&J sandwhiches. Though I can do that with mom's homemade pancakes. See, they're really small and...
What? Why are you looking at me like that?
Steve "Komodo" T.
