No offense meant at all but besides moding the forum, what else do you do? Just curious really.

While the concept is mine, the story and characters definately belong to both of us. We have story meetings and pound out plot and character details together. I've found collaborating with Michelle an absolutely awesome experience. It's almost impossible to experience writer's block with the two of us working together because of our brainstorming sessions. We write the script together. Every aspect of the story and script get approved by both of us before we move on. This isn't as difficult as it might sound, since Michelle and I think on the same wavelength most of the time anyway, almost to the point where we can complete each other's sentences.
I personally love working with Michelle because she has added so many layers and dimensions to the story with her ideas that just blow my mind. She has really made it something I'm proud to be a part of. And we both hope that, as the story unfolds over the next while, our readers will enjoy it as much as we do.
As for dividing other webcomic tasks, since I've got the rather intimidating task of doing the artwork, Michelle has kindly agreed to do all the Keenspace webdesign work.
Hope that helps answer your question.
-Krista

Well, for years I've been Krista's personal hairdresser and tactical advisor. This just seemed like the next logical step.
If you'd like to know what I do when I'm not working on the Utukki script or webpage, my personal page is at www.akane.org/michelle and the webpage of the anime club that I'm ... a part of ... is www.akane.org/end
Anything else? ^-^
------------------

Okay. It took me a while, but now I think I understand what it is that you're really asking. You want to know why a consumate story teller, and obviously talented artist like Krista, with a huge extant internet following would need or want to collaberate with anyone on a web comic. The answer is ...
...
Actually, I have no idea what the answer is. I've been wondering for months myself. Not complaining, though. It's a riot.
Or, as I said months ago in my blogger:
"Collaberating is easier than I ever dreamed it would be. I suppose it depends greatly on whom you are collaberating with. I had nightmare visions of a junior college English class group project where one person makes all the decisions, one person does all the work, one person coasts, and the last person makes timid suggestions and gets mocked or stared at or actually yelled at by the rest on a regular basis."
"Okay, so I don't normally play well with other children. I admit that openly. This time, I'm happy to say that it's different. I throw out an idea and she throws out an idea and we nod and think about how we could make any or all of these ideas fly, and then one of us says something (probably joking) that's crazy and goofy and absolutely *can't* work, but we both stop, and I look at her, and she looks at me, and either we simultaniously burst out laughing, or just stay really really quiet because we both know at the exact same moment that that's It. That's the exact idea that we didn't even know we were looking for. The one piece that we absolutely couldn't do without. It's the most fun I've had in a long time."
Does that answer the question?

Yup, answers my question perfectly, although the hair dresser story is far more believable

Seriously. ^_^ I had this really weird dream that I thought would make a good story. (I can't tell you what happened in the dream, because that would be a huge spoiler.) Then there's the fact that I've wanted to do a comic ever since I read Elfquest when I was 12 years old and learned how cool a story can be when told in the visual medium of a comic. Combine this with the internet web comic phenomenon now paveing the way for amateur artists to have their work reach an audience, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
So I went to Michelle, and said, "I have a nifty idea for a web comic. Wanna collaborate?" I can't remember what her exact response was, but I think it was positive, since she agreed right off the bat.
It took us all summer and fall to beat out the story. We also tried to recruit an anime-style artist, since I was terrified of drawing the comic myself, but that didn't pan out, so I got stuck with the job.
And there you have it. ^_^
-Krista
------------------

Well, that was Krista's doing. I have no artistic ability whatsoever, so when I discovered webcomics probably back in April or May, I remember being really impressed with the art and the story telling for several titles and clearly thinking to myself "Wow. This is cool. Looks like a lot of work, though. Good thing I'll never have a webcomic."
^-^
Should've known better.
So... Krista will probably tell you why she wanted to do a webcomic. As soon as she takes a break from the new "Baldur's Gate."

And it's a good thing you DID get stuck with the job, because, well, you're a great artist! ^^
And, as Michelle mentioned it, how IS the new Baldur's Gate? It looks kickass, on many levels. ^^

And it's her OWN fault, 'cause I GAVE her a ps2 memory card of her own, but does she use it? No. It's too much trouble to change them.
So
------------------

Yes, you did give me one, and I was all ready to use it, too! But then Michael said, "Don't worry about it, there's plenty of space on my card." There was, too. But alas, a slip of the finger on the save over option and my Level 12 elvin sorceress was nothing but a memory...
I'm not blaming Michael. It IS entirely my own fault, since he said I could use more than one save slot, but I was trying to conserve space on his card. ::sigh::

Ok, ok. It's not my fault Baldur's gate auto-saves over the most recent slot, not MY most recent slot. It's the compulsive save - hit enter 5 times syndrome.
-Michael

I *can* draw manga! Just 'cause you can't tell what anything is supposed to be ...
And Michael, I didn't say it was your fault. I said it was Krista's fault. She should know about this weakness of yours by now.
------------------
