That is a really good question. I'd like some answers to that one myself.
Right now, according to our web counter, 99.5% of our hits are still coming from either akane.org (where Krista and I both have our personal pages) or from somewhere at utukki.keenspace.com. (Archive, profiles, etc.) I know of two webcomics, and about three personal pages that also have links to Utukki, and those will probably also yield more hits as this thing progresses.
So how 'bout it? Long (or short) time fan of 'Hearts of Ice?' Stumbled across 'Cards of Destiny?' Random Webcomic surfer? What path has led you here?
------------------

Not completely sure, but I think I ran across it in the Yahoo! Groups Keenspace board. Either way, I'm glad I did!

I found it on Krista-sama's fanfiction page when she gave the preview art. That was when I learned about Utukki.
------------------

...
...
..^^;
Umm...
No. Can't say that I did that. Perhaps it's the 'Kingdoms of Keenspace' fantasy pulldown list. I think that we and Lovarian Adventurers are both on it. That's probably it.
At any rate, we're glad you're here! ^-^
------------------

I first heard of it when Krista mentioned it on her various newsletters and website updates. It looks to be one of the best plot driven comics that is out there from the early works of Krista and the art is also superb.

I must admit that I no next to nothing about Mesopotamian legends. However this comic has made me interested in learning more about them. As soon as the evil things that are known as finals are over, I shall get cracking on looking them up.
------------------

I found this place because Krista starting posting in the RP forum at RPG World.
And frankly, I'm glad I did.
This comic may just be in its infancy, but I'm frikkin' impressed. The artwork and the story already amaze me, and I can't wait for your inevitable rise to the 'Spot. You go girls!
------------------

Drats KoD, you beat me here.
Yep I am from the same place as KoD, RPGWW Forum.
I am most impressed with the comic. I read Gilgamesh multiple times, so it cool to know that the story lives on.

I came across it on the message board at Megatokyo.
I'm curious why you chose Mesopotamian legends. In my experience, few people know much about them - people tend to know more about Greek/Roman and Norse legends.

megatokyo forum too - glad I found this place!
I'm suspecting mesopotamia because its where the first great civilization came to being, therefore you can do stuff with super-ancient legends. Also, since mesopotamia legends are kinda obscure, you have much more artistic license? 8P
------------------

Heh heh! pOnju is right on both counts. Ancient legends are always fun to play with, and we can take a bit of artistic license with both story and characters, especially since there are so many discrepancies between different accounts and translations of Mesopotamian mythology.
Michelle and I have done some serious research to make sure that, even though we have hijacked the mythology, we stay true to it as well -- at least as far as it is possible to be faithful to a mythology that has so many variations. Also, the Babylonians and the Assyrians had the same pantheon of gods, but different names for them, in much the same way the Greeks and the Romans shared gods with different names. We've had to sort through different versions to create a solid world that we can work with. It's been very educating, a lot of fun, and I hope the result will make the story all the more interesting -- especially to those not familiar with ancient Mesopotamia.
By the way, thank you so much for the link, pOnju. Your site and comics are incredibly cool.
-Krista
