That's got to be embarrassing. I'm looking forward to the part where he turns around when he realizes that his boasts are not invoking the adoration they deserve. Or maybe he'll just assume that it's awed respect without turning around.
On a side note, good thinking sketching 'open' and 'close' around the door. That'll make it clear to anyone who was thrown off by that.
