Who's the person with the big hair? And...WHY does that uniform look just a LITTLE bit familiar? Maybe this is just my imagination...but...hmmmmm.......
I wonder which is a superior weapon....a sword or a bitchmaker....

The person with the big hair is Ceilidh MacFarlane from Avalon. The strip doesn't make a lot of sense unless you're familiar with Avalon...
And as for sword vs. wrench thing, I'd have to go with the sword - it weighs the same as the wrench and has quite a bit more range.

In actuality, it depends on the relative skills and strengths. I once took down a friend of mine with a shortspud when he had a longspud - and the shortspud was actually heavier (weighting and all). So it can be done. Personally, I think that if you're going to use a bludgeoning weapon, you should do it right - short, sweet, and heavy. The only swords sharp enough to be called swords, in my opinion, are katanas.
------------------
