Y'know, a few months back I got some fan mail the got me to thinking (yes, I occasionally get fan mail; please cease your gasps of amazement). Anyway, it recommended that I try working with a more comicbook like format, instead of the standard three panel layout. I've decided that I do indeed want to give this a try, and so todays comic (Friday) is my first attempt.
Additionally, I'm going to try some different methods of writing, to see if I can't produce something more coherent and better written. Since the only thing I really have to worry about for the next week is getting a math paper written (I took my Japanese final today, and my other two finals should be extremely easy), I now have the time to try and put this in action.
So, maybe I'll improve, maybe I won't. Least I can do is try, yeah?
- The Anthropological Oddity

Perhaps I'm overstepping my bounds here, but what the hell is a math paper? What do you write about in one of those? I have never in my life heard of such a thing. Back in my day we did math problems, and maybe proofs if we had been bad, but never an paper...
-Adam

*pardon for the length and ranting nature of this response*
Basically, it's sort of like writing a Math book, or an article for a mathematics journal. We take what we've learned, and try to explain it to the reader, giving proofs and examples. My last paper dealt with Recursion, and involved coding a couple of computer programs to serve as examples, then explain what was happening in them (and why they worked). Not fun. I still have no idea what grade I got on that one, and the three math papers together constitue most of our grade.
I really am not fond of my Proffessor for this class; I'd been warned about him, and tried to take special precautions so I wouldn't have him. Unfortunately, it seems everyone else had heard the same rumors, and did the same thing I did. So they canceled the second class, and had him teach the one everyone chose instead. And what I was told seems to be true: he really isn't much of a teacher. He basically just tells us what to learn by ourselves, and then tests us on it.
Anyway, I was going to work on the paper today, then take it into him tomorrow or Tuesday, when I suddenly got sick. Very sick. To the point that tomorrows comic won't be ready, let alone the paper.
Sorry if this was a bit rambling, but I've got a headache that's making my a bit incoherent.
- Matt
