The sad part is that the article is going to get buried and forgotten and the only thing people will remember is he was "Censored by the government!"

I'm starting to think that cleansing the gene pool is necessary beyond any reasonable doubt.

Free speech should imply something, shouldn't it? (Though of course not that others should distribute ones films, that'd be just silly)

No, the message is more along the lines of "Speak freely, but I don't have to listen to you." No one will shut you up, but you're not guaranteed an audience.
