Those partygoers in Boston were right
No, I remember drinking proper tea in the States while I was there. It was from a dinky drawstring tea bag, so it was fairly weak, but it was definitely proper tea.LAGtheNoggin wrote:I think you may be refering to Herbal teas... Or tea that isn't PG Tips or Tettly etc...

But I'm the type that wonders what the point of tea, full stop, is. It always reminds me of the Asterix characterisation of the Britons as always drinking mugs of hot water 'with just a spot of milk... rather!' For me it is simply hot bitter water. I'd rather just drink the milk. Or heat that up... yum.

That is quite... Strange...
Anywho! There's an exact art to creating a good cup of tea. You complain of it's bitterness I see? Add more milk and/or more sugar, or try Earl Grey and stear clear of Ceylon, or just don't brew it for so long. Tea. Such a versatile drink of just three ingredients... Well... Four... Ohkay five...
Tea. Water. Heat. Milk and Sugar.
MMmMMmmMMMmmmmMMmm... Sweat Tea, Bitter Tea, Straight Tea, Milky Tea, *cough*Iced Tea*cough*, Dark Tea, Delicate Tea, Cheap Tea, Expensive Tea... The list goes on! It's so versatile! ^.^
I Love my Tea! Almost as much as I love my New Forest Scrumpy, mmmm, scrumpy... But Scrumpy's special...

Ergo
The proportion of tea in my brew is too great... so reducing the amount of tea would improve it... so why not remove the tea entirely? A-ha!LAGtheNoggin wrote:Anywho! I used to drink it with sugar, but I considered it pretty pointless, as it generally overwhelms the 'tea' component. But hey. I'm not campaigning against tea; it's just not my cup of... ahem.
(Though I'm told I make a very nice cup of tea. Which will no doubt be useful in later life.)

Because removing the Tea entirely just defeats the point! No matter how little tea there is it is still a cup of tea. Or mug... Or glass... Or whatever...
It'd be like non-alcholic beer... Or boiled vegetables without the pinch of salt!
Now I was going somewhere profound with all this but the only place I can think of right now is the Isle of Wight...
Gawd damn trains... hrmpf... Oh... I just missed the 7:42.... hrmpf...
