Here's something you might not have heard of. If Bob O'Link is the smart bird I take him for, he will not have to walk all over Cotton's rantings with commercials for very long, if he has the presence of mind to tape what Cotton is actually saying.

Such a tape can easily be cut 'n' pasted to form some semblance of more hateful rhetoric that can be used to replace what Cotton is ranting on a future program.

You don't even have to cut and paste tape anymore. You just digitize the entire conversation, and use something like Cool Edit or Sound Forge to manipulate it any way you want. You can even eliminate artifacts that usually come about from such cutting and pasting. A good operator could also use the time stretch and pitch shift functions to change inflections on words so the entire sentence matches.
Can you tell I've done audio work before?

Angel Bear... that would two things that are very dispicable:
1) Proccessing propaganda... still goes on today as commercials... the ones hawking the anti-depressants and the diet pills and the new cars.
I.E. "You're not popular if don't lose weight! You're a loser if you don't buy a car! Feeling depressed? Pop a pill!"
You get what I'm saying.
And 2) is the most horrid thing of all:
Putting words in peoples' mouth.
Bill's way of thinking is "the best way to feed a fire is to fuel it with gasoline!"
He'd better watch out for the vapor flash, because he'll be burnt by his convictions.
Oh... if anyone is reading this that happens to consider eating that foul fowl... DON'T.
He'd be like a bookstore selling Jean Paul Sart books... only give you nausea. Or should that be Nausea?
Maybe I SHOULD leave Jean Paul Sart out of this discussion... I'll just pass you folks the bicarbonate of soda.

I'm guessing you meant Bob, not Bill. Funnily enough, I almost didn't notice the switch.
*hugs Bill*

I WAS talking about BOB not Bill. Sorry Bill.
*hugs Bill*
*pats Bill on the back.*
Didn't mean to get ya mixed up in another bird's B.S.

I'll be more careful in the future.

And if Cotton were the type of person who
could hear such versions of his words being
broadcast, or discover their content through
the assistance of friends, and upon the
discovery that he had been so blatantly and
unknowingly recontextualized... would just
shrug and smile and "Who cares?" Bob would
no doubt be trying something like that right
now.
But Cotton *isn't*, and Bob knows that.
These subtle alterations to Cotton's speeches
have to be explainable, at least initally,
to ensure Cotton doesn't find out too quickly
or take umbrage too greatly. It's a very
subtle and sophisticated game, and Cotton
doesn't know (yet) that it's being played on
him.
