Forgive me if this topic's been discussed before; I'm really behind on the board. But it looks as if Avariss is trying something truly diabolical.
He's sending his most troublesome employees -- including his own son -- to Furriston right when the anti-human rhetoric is heating up, being stoked by Snakebird Bob. What if one or more of them -- particularly his own son -- were to be hurt or worse, assasinated by furry nutcases?
Avariss gets rid of his most troublesome problems, and gets to beat his breast and declare how his company and he himself has been wronged.
And then he gets to retaliate, essentially declaring intifada on the Furriston.
Damn, that's a dark scenario. And I very much doubt it will come close to that, as this isn't a dark strip. But I'll wager that's what Avariss had in mind when he initiated this plan.
