In my random walkings about the 'net, I ocassionally stumble across GC fan artwork. Some are cool, some are fun and some are really, really good. Many are not in Gene's fan art page, so anyone interested in seeing GC fan art should fire up Google.
Two images drawn by the very talented Mark Fried of Spellshocked ( http://www.spellshocked.com/ ) fame can be found here:
http://dragon.dragonfeathers.org/~mfrei ... ENE.GIF
and
http://dragon.dragonfeathers.org/~mfrei ... COC.JPG
I hope everyone enjoys them. These weren't in Google, I was surfing MF's home page where he has a collection of his artwork, and stumbled into them totally by surprise.
Sometimes the 'net izza cool place to be
Thanks,

So that's how Gene gets so much done! He's had himself cloned! There could be dozens of him in the Gene Pool!
I hope Cat's Whisker doesn't hear about this.

No, Google is still hot. But for image searching there are better alternatives. IMO, AllTheWeb is definitely the best. It was my main source when I had to copy and illustrate news for IFX Brasil. =^^=
------------------

Well, I do know that Google's image locating
capacity isn't the greatest. But they do seem
to have one of the fastest search engines in
use. (Hmm... perhaps at the expense of valid
hits?) O_O

Yeah... But sometimes Google finds something that was far from the kind of page you were expecting to find, but a really hot spot for what you were objectively looking for.
They have a complex criterium, based on the amount of links that direct to the specific page. Probably useful, if you think a little about it.
I can barely recall a project about another search engine site that was trying to use this criterium from Google, but with a slight alteration. It starts with T. May have an E or an A. But this is almost an year ago, and it was just a project, so, well, never got back to that site. Maybe searching for something in the Yahoo! Web Directory I can find it... Hmmm...
------------------

Aaaah! I knew it! Yahoo rules when you know the site you're looking for!

LOL! How difficult is it for Yahoo to rule
when you've done half the work for them?

Well, people DO lose their bookmarks. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/rolleye ... P>Actually what I like in Yahoo is their directory structure. Really neat. I knew what kind of site I was looking for and could remember a few letters. There wasn't anything more appropriate.
Btw-- since yesterday, I used Teoma a couple of times (one for a math information, other for Javascript information). This thing seems really effective! I got the pages with what I was looking for in the first 3 matches!
------------------
