I dunno.. after some of the e-mail I got today,
it's apparently okay to be very jealous over
what goes on in a comic strip. <=)

A couple of possibilities came to mind though. 1) after the encounter at the fountain I get the impression that the whole "ear touching thing" means something much more significant in Tavatiana's culture than Cotton realizes (not that he would object entirely, but he may be saying things he's not aware of)

It means about the same thing in both cultures,
indeed throughout most furry cultures on their
world. It's simply more of a formal expression
in Canovia than it is in Furriston.
quote:

In the human world, it sure would! The press
in Canovia would regard it as a surprise that
their premier would be having so much fun in
another country. The Furriston media would
put more of a "cute" backspin on it, since
it's obviously no longer a secret that the
premier is visiting there.

The gesture has its own unique value for the
lapine members of their world. In a way, it
carries as much weight as a kiss.

Well it would depend on the species of the participants now wouldn't it? Ever tried cuddling with someone with horns, especially when one of you doesn't?
Of course then there's trying to french kiss a vampire but that's a topic for a WHOLE other forum.
-Captain Mike

The only danger I can think of that CW could
be to the eyes is my not being able to take
mine off her. (Which can be a problem, in fact,
especially while driving, eating, etc.) ^_^
