GCP (well, ECP) strikes again! That was beautiful, Gene. The timing was PERFECT. (I didn't even really notice 'Eugene'... I took it for granted that it was GCP 'cause it was Saturday.)

The dialogue was great. "Well, get busy, Dad!" "Get your little tail back to the future NOW!" .. hehe. But, Gene, *did* you tell him anything about messing with the logo?

And has he tried taking any of your vintage computing devices back to the future for auctioning?

No, it's just that in one of Gene's yerf images, Eugene asks Dad if he could have one of Dad's old laptops, and the reason why he wanted such a clunky old thing is 'cause he could get 2,000 credits for it.

(What can I say? I've got an incredible imagination for little tiny bits of somewhat impracticable information, but I can't remember what day it is.)

adhere to them! My son is gonna be one of
those kids that makes their father wince
inwardly every time he does something like
that (because he knows he's done much the

mine, showing up like that waaay out of his
future timeslot? Granted, it *is* within the
established format of GCP, that is "no taking
anything too seriously here!" but still!

Actually he was kinda hoping for that! Makes
for the maximum effect, but only if the comic
has been running long enough to establish
itself in the reader's minds. The logo can
become quite overlookable until soneone
suddenly points out it's different.

*chuckle* I dunno! Maybe I did, but it's
entirely possible I didn't! (DO NOT under any
circumstances tell him that, though!) As you
may already suspect, my son is going to be
one of those kids that I'm going to have to
give a lot of rules to... ("But Dad, you
didn't tell me not to turn the washing
machine into a cyclotron...") and after awhile
some of the "Don't ____" start to run together. <=)

So far, no... but then, he hardly needs to
take any of mine - he's got plenty of his
own! ^_^

No, that was only a GCP (or, as Elix pointed
out, an ECP this time) that took advantage of
the don't-take-anything-too-seriously policy.
There'll be only one Eugene in the future,
and as far as canonical conditions go he won't
be meeting himself in the story. As far as
him being a handful to raise, however... O_o

to was a pic I posted on Yerf some years ago.
My lady cat and I have had our own long-
running storytelling between ourselves for
years, which is where our son came from, and
that was an illustration that I decided was
too cool to remain just between us.

(One
of these days I may put together some of our
stories so that my online readers can see
the great influence CatsWhisker has on my
comic and my storytelling.

WE played out our entire existence in ONE timestream... and we were THANKFUL for it!

And we did it BAREFOOT... through 3 FEET of SNOW...

Don't forget the distance! Usually varies with
the telling, but always double-digit miles.
(10 or more. 20 is optimum!)

Ah, yes, multiple time/space streams can be fun...as any old-school Whovian will tell you.

At least this time, it was a future that Gene's seen (forseen?) and was familiar with. It'd be interesting to see other temporal possibilities...

Well, c'mon... in GCP I can get a little self-
referential with things, playing it up for fun!
But a comic with as many story elements as
this one would be totally incomprehensible
if I didn't have some long-range plans in
place.

Besides, anyone who's been involved in story-
telling for any length of time knows that
characters take on their own personality if
you work with them long enough. So though I
may have seen my future son in GCP, he'll
still have plenty of surprises for his father
in the future!
