Comic Cookout 8- who's going?

Post by Dragonkingdoms »

I'm curious as to who's going to the Comic Cookout VIII in New York the last weekend of July? We have a host; we just need to know who's interested in seeing the Big Apple.
Host: IVstudios
Sights: Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Broadway, Ground Zero, Chrysler Building, Times Square, Wall St., Central Park, Coney Island, etc.
100% Going (well, 99.9999999...)

We are most likely coming, but we'll probably be only to make it out there for one day.

I can make it for sure. The city is a hop and a skip away, so it'd be perfect for a day trip for me and I wouldn't need to spend the night creepin' in IV's house, rearranging his flower pots :P

Sadly, much less frequently than I'd like :(

On the other hand, though, that means I don't go to the hospital often... which is a good thing, I guess.

Why? You like sexual harrasment?

The trick is to just steal his cane first, then maintain a head-start distance in case he starts closing in.

Reminder: The cookout is five weeks away. I was wondering about getting a website set up for this thing, much like http://cookout.comicgenesis.com/
but instead of "OMAHA 2010" it would say "NYC 2011" and July 28-31, and the corn backdrop would be replaced with the NYC skyline. The countdown date would be changed from June 3 to July 28, and the time still 12 noon or whatever it was. I'd do it myself, but I don't have the necessary access to do so.

The cookout is almost here. Do we have a final list of who's coming? Do we know what time we are meeting and where? I'm assuming Saturday morning at Penn Station? We really need to get this finalized.

Aw crap. It turns out my sister has a concert scheduled for that day.

I'll still go to the cookout, I've been to so many of her concerts that I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

Edited: Unless everyone would be okay with having it on Sunday? Not a big deal if it won't work that way, just throwing it out as a suggestion.

Either is fine with me, but we need to nail down a definitive day and time.

I think Saturday would be better. That way, if anyone was still around Sunday, maybe they can see the sights of the city before returning home.

Hm... How is this going to work? I'm new to this concept. How many days does it last, where and how do people meet? What do I have to do/bring? That and much more on the next episode of My First CG Cookout, Season 2, Episode 4, v3.832, limited edition KeenSpace holographic logo! Yea!

EDIT: I just came across with the e-mail with the Google Voice number... I don't know what that is...

EDIT 2: Okay... Now that I've read through this thread... So it seems that you guys still don't have a definite date or place to go. My birthday is on the 27th and I was thinking of going to Max Brenner's Chocolate restaurant to celebrate with my brother and girlfriend on the weekend after that. So mayber Friday, Saturday and Sunday are good days for me to go to the city. I don't know if everyone would want to go as well because there's Forbidden Planet right across from Max Brenner's and I'm going to ask them if they'll take a few copies of my comic book. If they do that'd be an awesome birthday present.

That's my google voice number, so the group can find me when they arrive.

Also, we really need to make a decision on when to meet. How about Saturday morning at 10 am at NY Penn station? We walk around the city for a few hours and stuff.

So if I call that number on my cellphone I'll be able to speak to you?

That sounds rad.

Anyways, let me know what you think of the Max Brenner's idea I left a few posts above.

I'll be up there the weekend of July 30th, so yeah, 10AM at Penn Station on the 30th sounds good.
