Just a curiosity

Has CG ever pruned its members? Does anyone know? I was only curious as to how there could be so many members registered on the site and have so few people actually online ever. So I decided to investigate.
There are currently 7,671 "registered" members who have never posted at all and most seem to have links to rather disagreeable sites listed in their links or locations (drug sellers, porn sites, etc). If we had everyone post at least once in the Introduction thread as a part of the CG forum approval/registration process, then we could at least be assured that the "registered" member actually is a person and could reliably prune the nonauthentic "ghost people."
I do not post this to question or criticize the wonderful staff of CG because I do enjoy the operation even if I am fairly new and inexperienced. As I said, it was more of a curiosity thing.

You got a point there. I guess all those accounts slide under the radar by never actually posting anything. I could go and try to get rid of all those accounts, but I better ask official admins before deleting several thousands of users.

It was just strange to me. That's why I brought it up. But yeah... deleting several thousand users all at once... Um, yeah, permissions are good. Lol.

I wonder what percentage are spammers. Probably around 75% to be kindly
But yeah. The forum was at its most active years ago, and there were a lot more people posting in the comic-specific forums as well (I would think, I wasn't really there). Now many of those posters have grown up and turned into cephalopods, and no longer walk among us. A lot of people have joined in recent years, made a few posts, stuck around for a month, two months, maybe a season, and then disappear mysteriously. That's also probably why the member count is high relative to the amount of action the forum gets.
For what it's worth, it's been picking up a bit lately, got some oldbies popping back in and so forth. I prefer it this way to some of the bigger forums I've been to, where you only recognize maybe a handful of posters at a given time but your own posts go unread as the thread grows exponentially, with everyone replying to the OP only and ignoring everything in between that and their own post. (One of my issues with SmackJeeves, actually).

The last time was about six years ago. It actually caused some problems. Keep that in mind, mcDuffies!

Life doesn't have a reset button, McDuffies. Do it, and reap the chaos!

If I turned into a cephalopod (which sounds really cool), I'd still come by and post here.

I just don't have anything meaningful to contribute to any of the threads. I don't read any CG comics, I don't make comics, and the closest I come to art is the Powerpoint presentations I every now and then do at work to brief my boss on training exercises.
So, that's my excuse for rarely ever coming around the forums or chat. I just don't have any hardcore connections to keep me coming back, and most of the people I knew from way back are gone. Plus, no jams or nothing. I miss jams.

Sounds like it's about time for a gritty reboot of the franchise.

BEES!
I had that domain for like three years and never did anything with it.
