Re: Bye bye Human Torch, hello...
I heard about this. Talk about a dumb idea.
Well, not so much the team up as killing off human torch and giving the new group a reeeeally stupid name. But oh well...marvel and dc comics are more or less the geek equivalent of General Hospital anyway. He'll be back.

And people wonder why superhero comics are slowly dying.
So bold!
So original!
So... done before.
My eyes can't roll hard enough to convey the jaded "whatever" I'm feeling right now.

The concept of Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four isn't so bad (they do have quite a history), but I don't really like that "Mighty Morphin Spider Man" costume.

Heck, this has really been in the works since Spidey's second appearance. It took him nearly fifty years, but he made it, baby!Terotrous wrote:The concept of Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four isn't so bad (they do have quite a history)
Same here. But you know what I did like? The Iron Spider. I really wouldn't have minded it that hadn't been just a Civil War gimmick. They need to get him another copy of that suit, one that Stark can't take control of whenever he wants. And with four of those robotic arms. Just having three of 'em was kind of off-balance, silly, and one short of a giving him a full eight limbs.but I don't really like that "Mighty Morphin Spider Man" costume.

But not really new; She-Hulk, Crystal, Lady Thing (can't remember her name), they usual take on new members. The death of the Torch should have caused them to do more than the usual. Maybe follow the Ultimate line and turn one evil.Terotrous wrote:The concept of Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four isn't so bad (they do have quite a history)
What happen to the ones given to those clones? There were like three of them running around did they all die?Jim North wrote:The Iron Spider. Re: Bye bye Human Torch, hello...
I have to admit that after the travesty that was One More Day, I've pretty much stopped paying regular attention to anything Marvel has been doing and thus only hear about the big things. I wasn't aware of these guys, and now that I am . . .Lostmind wrote:What happen to the ones given to those clones? There were like three of them running around did they all die?
Ew. I don't like these guys at all. Just another reason to not pay regular attention. Anyway, the answer to your question apparently is "almost". There seems to be only one of them left.
In any case, I would much rather Spider-Man be the one wearing the suit, not some clones of some other dude. Spider-Man and clones have never been a good mix.

Soo true, but like any addiction you keep going back. I haven't bought a comic in nearly ten years (well Marvel one anyway) yet I still want to know what my favorite characters are up to.Jim North wrote:Just another reason to not pay regular attention.
You're likely safe as like many Civil War/Secret Invasion characters added he'll likely fade into the background. Where did the Runaways go?Jim North wrote:Anyway, the answer to your question apparently is "almost". There seems to be only one of them left.

Apparently they went to the big screen. A Runaways movie is currently in the casting process.Lostmind wrote:Where did the Runaways go?

All I knows is what the websites tells me. I've never actually read or cared about Runaways in any fashion.Lostmind wrote:I thought it went to hiatus. So they went back to casting.Jim North wrote:Apparently they went to the big screen. A Runaways movie is currently in the casting process.
