EntreCard for Webcomics - Can it work?

Post by Jekkal »

I've been trying out EntreCard for my webcomic at the behest of a couple friends who wanted to expand it out into Webcomics, as it's been running very smoothly for blogs (and in fact, I've used it for my own blog before this, but didn't consider it for the comic as well until recently).

In a Nutshell:
  • Add 125x125 ad widget onto site. (Same size as PW's square ads)
  • Click on other people's widgets on their sites.
  • Gain virtual credits to use to advertise on other people's sites for free.
  • Get more credits for letting other people advertise on your site for free.
  • Boost Traffic.
  • Rinse.
  • Repeat.
The Webcomics division is just starting out, and so I could stand to see some more familar faces on there. I know the system works, at least as a general traffic booster (which some of y'all might like), but mostly I'd like to see what would happen if we had enough webcomics on the system that they could support each other, since I tend to notice the best type of visitors come from other people's webcomics. Lord knows I'd rather give my free ads to other webcomics instead of blogs like "Make Money Now Click Here".

So... help a girl feel less stupid for being an early adopter. Please? :)

(... I mean, heck, if these fools can act like THEY discovered Project Wonderful...)

It certainly sounds like a good idea.

Don't forget Kelly Vivanco!

But anyways, I think this is a good idea. Would you need any help getting it implemented?

Lesse, I use female characters for avatars, have a unusually gender-balanced cast for my webcomic, which also happens to feature an overprotective father getting pissed off at his eldest daughter "endangering herself", answer to RACHEL (of all things)... what, did the furry throw y'all off? : :P

I'd say "Insert Vibe Here" but that would give you all entirely the wrong idea.

I think it's less the furry thing (as I met two lovely young ladies whom were furries just the other day in fact) but rather the whole...you know..internet thing. You being on it and all. :P

I'm on, though it looks like the 'Webcomics' catagory is supposed to be blogs ON webcomics. One of the things you're supposed to report as a bad site is a site that's not actually a blog. Although this may simply be that they haven't updated their verbage to include webcomics. Well, we'll see if I get kicked out.
