Anybody ever FORGET their comic's anniversary?

Post by Alschroeder »

I didn't remember until yesterday evening that yesterday was my comic's sixth anniversary. Anybody else do that? (In all honesty, working on getting the "team" book Crossoverlord ready, and my son's birthday today, it slipped my mind, even though I asked others what I should DO for my sixth anniversary earlier in a thread a month or two ago.)---Al

Oh, your comic is going to be MAD! Did you even get flowers :D

I almost forgot this year but I started my comic on April Fools day so it is much easier to remember.

I have absolutelly no idea when is may comic birthday. I started publishing it in a blog around mid 2003 (I think), but as I changed from the blog to my own domain, I lost track of it... guess I'll just choose a random date so I can celebrate a 5th annyversary this year :P

I never forget it because I'm constantly reminded that my comic is going too slowly to be where I want it to be. Personally, I think it's pointless to celebrate a comic's anniversary. It's not even an accurate measure of where you are in the comic or even where you are in your own artistic development. I'd rather celebrate something like finishing a story arc or a chapter. Of course, if you are doing a gag-a-day comic, a page landmark (i.e. 50 or 100 pages) is probably a better thing to celebrate than an anniversary. Er... I don't mean to be a party pooper. Congrats! Ehehe....

I never remember those things. Or comic counts, either.
I'd try to say it's because I don't believe in arbitrary milestones, but really it's just because I'm forgetful.

I've never forgotten Station V3's anniversary, but I've been a little late remembering Z7's the past two years.

(In related news: Z7 turned four a couple days ago!)

(And congratulations on six years!) :)

Even though the current archives shows about 16 months of comics, the comic itself is actually much older. Otherwise it would be about 9 years old. As for the date, it was about February or March of 1998 I first created a comic strip featuring David Fizuth.

The current strip's anniversary is easy to remember, though, January 1.

This thread just reminded me that my comic had it's second anniversary back in March. So yeah, I guess I do forget!

It's hard for me to pinpoint the birthday of my comic since it officially started 7 years ago, but only ended up on the internet a year and a bit ago. I don't want to count its birthday as the day I put it online, because it actually goes back so much further than that, but I don't recall the actual day that I started it. Plus I can't barely remember my own relative's birthdays, so I'm probably better off not trying to remember my comic's birthday, too.

That's not to say I don't love my comic. I'm totally gonna buy it a car for graduation.

I've forgotten P&A's... hard to forget Shenanigan's since we launched it on my birthday.
And then it sort of lay comatose for months. Finished now; I just have to scan the damn thing.

But yeah. I forgot P&A's last year. Remembered like the next day ... and sneakily posted its celebratory comic for the correct day and just hoped no one would notice.
