Introducing the Cornstalker Comics Collective

Post by DJMayhem »

It's been a while in the making, but now, its official.

There is a Cornstalker Comics Collective.

I'm now the associate editor and website coder of the collective. Leading this group, of course is our fearless leader, Matt "Cortland" Johnson (Cortland, duh). With us is the other associate editor, R.L. Peterson (Go For It!)

and we have plenty of comics along for the ride:

Astorauth- Robin Pierce
Legostar Galactica- D.M Jeftinija
Oops, Nevermind!- Sincerely
Tales of Plyea- Aimee Chow
Darken- Kate "Komiyan" Ashwin
Aldus Maycombe- Janine "Keffria" Harper
Pimpette and Associates- Laurel K.
Tales of the Traveling Gnome- Matt "Net" Summers and Michelle "Dragonmajik" Mayo
Reckless Youth- Claude TC
Green Avenger- Abby "Ryuko" Lehrke
Pocket Kitten- M. Neils.
Inhumation- Carl A. Schulz IV

Check out the final version of the site at:
http://www.cornstalker.com

Just you wait and see. The corn is always greener.
You know, i should work on this.

That's why I'll never join!! As long as I'm not a member, the group will always appear that much more awesome!!!

If you stare at it for an hour without looking away, a secret message appears. Try it.

(Hey! Awesome!)

That blank space is the hole of ages. Stare at it long enough without eating or sleeping and it shows you the heart of the universe.

And it really really works!

All these comics are still hosted on their own comic sites, most of them Keenspace, right? So what you've done is make a collective within a collective.

This place not cliqueish enough for you, folks? :)

Well, congrats and good luck, I guess.

I'm guessing you've never heard of Blank Label, or DayFree Press, or Dumbrella.

Dumbrella and DayFree are collections of independant comic creators with their own hosting. No two comics share the same server -- individual creators are responsible for their own hosting, and they have just teamed up for PR purposes. They have no other affiliations.

Blank Label is a hosting site -- their comics are all hosted on their servers. As far as I can tell...let me know if I'm mistaken.

Let me know also if I'm mistaken that all but one Cornstalker is hosted on ComicGenesis. You're not a collective. You're a clique within a collective, a subcollective. A group of people saying, 'We're the cool ones'. Think how that makes the rest of us feel.
Pengy wrote:No the cornstalkers are the whos who among the CG formites.
See what I mean? Already you're getting a reputation that anyone who matters on CG is a Cornstalker.

"Every act of creation is an act of destruction -- the erasure of that which came before." If you want to make another collective, lose your status as a ComicGenesis person. If you try to keep both, you erase my status as a first class citizen of CG...I, and hundreds of others, have just been labeled second-class.

Elitism freaks me the fuck out. I'm ducking out of this thread before I seriously lose my shit over this. I do wish y'all luck in doing whatever the hell you hope to accomplish.
