Tagboard being spammed?

Just wonder if anyone else is getting spam from porn and poker places all of a sudden on their comic's tag boards. Mine's from tag-board.org (no ads or popups whoooo) and the last two days I've gotten six ads.

I'm not asking CG to do anything about it - it's not their responsibility. Next spam I get I'm going to just edit the post and make the poster look silly. :P

I've had them now for a few months, but yeah, the last two weeks they've come thick and fast. I've just been deleting them and refusing to awknowledge their presence.

Mind you...I'm also about to get the bloke who looks after the mechanics behind the site to block them the moment I get back in touch too.

Same here. I should switch over to tagboard.org. Even if it doesn't do anything about the spam flooding, at least the popup ads will be gone.

I got a C-Box and it's been ace. No spam, no pop-ups, and it looks nicer than a tagboard by a mile..

I use Cbox and it's great. I can delete posts, ban user IPs - and what's even better my name (as an admin) displays in red - so that annoying guy in China can no longer pretend to be me greeting people in bad English! He wasn't even rude or anything, but if anyone posted a compliment he'd answer politely to thank him in broken English signing in as Gianna. So annoying.

Yeah, it says on the site that there're text ads, but I haven't seen any yet... Just a bunch of people telling me how awesome my comic is.

C-Box, eh. I'll look into that.

BUT IF I GET ADS HEADS WILL ROLL.

Cope's specifically.

I've been using my own PHP tagboard (DawgTag... oo here's a link! http://dawgiestyle.com/2005/09/21/dawg-tag-14-released )
It takes a little html/ftp knowledge, but having hosting it myself its really hard to bots to find it and spam it. Then again, my webcomic isn't connected with any rings or webcomic hosting type things.

I've got a half-done Tagboard on the work list for my "Webgadgets" project (I'll bet $5 someone's already taken that name). I've almost finished the poll script - just need to finish the admin stuff.
Some of the planned features include Captcha ("what are the letters in this image/soundclip") checking and post editing/deletion/auto-expiring. More news to come later :)
