Top Three Wishlist

Post by Thereforeiam »

As I read all these topics and see what everybody is talking about and hoping for, it seems to me we all have different reasons for doing webcomics, but we all really want similar things out of them. I was just wondering what the top three things (reasonable, actually hope to achieve things) everybody wants to get out of their webcomic are.

Mine are:
1. The ability to draw the same level and style consistently
2. An outlet for my creative nature that is being crushed as a finance student.
3. Fans. I can dream, dammit.

Now tell me what you want to get out of your comic!

1. The ability to draw well. To the level I feel our comic deserves.
2. Market research. :shifty:
3. Some day have something worth binding into a book. (and maybe selling some of said book. Just so long as I'm dreaming here. :shucks:)

I already got what I wanted out of my comic. An outlet for all the humor that develops in my life so I can share it with others.

1 - Express my creative desire to do a superhero comic in the mainstream (as a writer, not as an artist... I suck as an artist).
2 - A promotional tool for my books
3 - Expand the universe within my books to new genres outside of the fantasy one that my books currently inhabit.

Same thing it looks like everyone wants:

1: To improve my artistic abilities.
2: Recognition from fans. (Loose morals optional.)
3: To be able to do what I love for the rest of my life.

1. I started my comic to put a story on paper and to not to go back and rewrite it once I got halfway through. So far, I have succeeded in this one, though I am redrawing issues 1-4 for print and I will be "clarifying" issue 4 without changing the story TOO much.

2. I met my wife doing comics. It wasn't a goal but ... :D

3. ... Who am I kidding. There's no way to profit from comics.

1. An inexpensive hobby, and one I can enjoy returning to.
2. A sense of personal achievement, no matter how the story and characters may be received in the long rong across the internet world.
3. I'll let wish number three surprise me whenever it happens.
