UK Webcomix Thing 2006

Post by War »

Merry morning to ye all. This is the first report from the 2006 UK Webcomix Thing. It's 9:45, the con opens in 15 minutes, we're all set up and I'm already bored and browsing the forums on my laptop (hooray for open wireless points).
Image

A terrible blurry photo of Komiyan, Robin and Cookie.

That is all for now.

*jealousy overload*

Bah! They should host these things up north, somewhere like Leeds, Manchester... or Hull.

We all have cameras, but none of us have the cables to connect them to my laptop. So expect better photos tomorrow.
Status update: Wig itches like hell, doesn't seem to be attracting extra attention.
I've eaten most of Komiyan's and Gort's bourbon biscuits.
Did I mention the wig itches like hell?

Anyway, you guys have fun! :)

hehe, I just got back from that. Were you wearing the blue afro wig? Anyway, those bourbons were great. Shame I picked up one of Claudes bonbons first. They take ages to eat, and so I had to decline free food all the way round. Damn You Bonbons!

Just did a badge count. I bought 28 of them. Blarg.

My only consolation in all of this is that the cookout will be sweet. And that there will be lots of pictures.

You know how Jim Jarmush made a film "Night on earth" that happens in five different cities in the world? He wanted to spend time with his friends scattered all over the world so he wrote a script that gave him excuse for that. I'm gonna do the same one day.

Scanning and uploading pictures at the moment. The software for my camera is somewhere I don't know, so tomorrow for the pics, but sketches now!

Here be the sketches: Bob's, War's, the page full of Claude, Robin, Laura and Komi goodness, aaaand Jops's!

Bob, the pic I took of you froze my camera, and the sketch you did can't be rezied or saved in any way other than the format in which it was scanned, even when scanned again! Something is A FOOT.

I had a great time. Pics tomorrow, and probably a rant on how great it was, or not, I'm not good at ranting.

Edit: I forgot the pic Liz (from Stuff Sucks) drew when I brought my Binky badge. Liz's thing: here.

It was great. UK Comic Thing was amazing and Comicgenesis was WELL represented.

Thank you to Kate and Robin and all of the CG crowd for making me feel so welcome.

I will post more pictures tomorrow, but for now here's a lil' teaser...
