Web Comic Review sites

Post by Mimo »

I know about these sites:
http://www.webcomicfinds.blogspot.com/

http://www.korsil.net/

http://webcomicsreview.com/

but can anyone suggest anymore review sites- I'm greedy for honest and well written reviews to read!

Where's a review site that's willing to take bribes and will give me a great review for no more than 20 bucks?

Enter the Dream is my favorite, but be wary of being reviewed by them...they're usually quite brutal :P
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

There's always the Tangents review site... I started a month and a half ago.

Meh. Reviews are so last year. And it seems to be the same 20 comics getting reviewed at most sites.

All I can say is that I'd rather be anywhere but reading Anywhere But Here! That comic is so bad that everyone should go see it RIGHT NOW to see how bad it is!!!!!!!!!

How's that? :D

That's strange. Seeing as I've not seen anyone else review Chibi Cheerleaders from Outer Space before. Nor do I remember people reviewing the Sebo Kitty Klub, or Elf Life, Flipside, Eversummer Eve, or some other strips I've done. In fact, I've reviewed 49 different strips so far, which seems to be 29 more than the normal 20 you claim are reviewed all the time.

Nor are all of my reviews glowingly positive. When I reviewed Get Outta My Head (by Kirabug), I commented that I felt she should have focused on more stories and the like. Likewise, I've been somewhat critical of College Roomies when I reviewed it. So it's not all sugar and roses.

Perhaps you should expand your field of reviewing sites. Websnark isn't stuck on the same comics all the time. I'm trying my best to branch out. (Hell, I'm working on new Keenspace comics, just did a review of Burgundy Comics, Inc. though you can't tell with keenspace being down right now...)

Yes, I'm more into storytelling comics than gag-a-day strips, but hey, that's because I like storytelling comics. *wry grin* It's my perogative.

And you know something... if you don't like the reviews being written, why not write some webcomic reviews yourself and submit them to the review sites? (Though not mine, I'm afraid I've already several people working with me for Tangents.)

I've been trying to click it, especially knowing a date comic is up now or soon, and curious to see if it's my turn.

Unfortunately, keenspace no-worky. :(

My suspicion is that Keenspace's server is down to deal with the missing comic archive problem. They're probably restoring from a backup in fact, as I've heard rumor that the problem is repeating itself with comics that did a Full Update and restored their archives by reloading them.

Warren was kidding. He has this habit of... you know... saying stuff.
Plus, he's senior citizen, you oughta respect him more.

Pshah. It's more fun taking people seriously so you can then watch them freak when they were only joking.

I am not sure I have the strength of character to handle a review. I look at my comic and tear it apart just fine by myself.

Letting someone else tear it apart would likely put me in writers/drawers block for a year.
