Hamilton Area 24 Hour Comic Day Events?

Post by Ghastly »

This upcoming Saturday April 23rd is 24 Hour Comic Day and I'm contemplating taking part.

There doesn't seem to be an official location in Hamilton saddly enough so if any comicbook shop owner is wanting to host 24 hours of extra comic goodness and needs an artist for people to come in and gawk at feel free to drop me a line. Likewise if any Hamilton area comic artists want to plan something let me know, otherwise it will just be me on my lonesome at home.

VileTerror said it wants to participate. But there was a problem with the forums or something. Maybe you should drop by the TAC forums? VT said there might be more Hamilton based people there too. Dunno, just passing the message a long.

I live in Toronto, maybe not too far away from Hamilton. But drawing comic for 24 hours? Are you serious? I can't stay on one spot for more than 2 hours. That's why I can't hold an office job.

Do you know of any 24 hour Comic Day events taking place in Downtown Toronto? It's just a quick hop on the Go bus for me to get to Toronto. There doesn't appear to be anything happening in Hamilton, althought I've set up a venue for next year's event.

Just called them, turns out there's some sort of error on the site, they're not taking part. Bummer.

I've got a Hamilton venue lined up to host it next year though.

Won't be seeing me there. I'm heading to the TCAF!

But perhaps we can all meet up somewhere in Toronto anyway. A new Jack Astor's just opened up near the GO Station. Sound like a plan?

I think I know what VT is talking aobout. A Jack Astor's openned up at the corner of Front and some other street near Union Station, next to the Loose Moose. It's just across the street and down the road from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Its like a 5 minute walk.

Well aren't I silly. I actually forgot how large Toronto is. Sorry, nilly's right (damn creepy psychic), I meant Union Station.
I took a trip recently to get my ticket to the Kid Koala show, and I'll be taking another one before the May 27th weekend to do more scouting.

I can post a map here if people want to see the locations of Union Station, the Jack Astor's in question, and the CN Tower.

It's a restaurant with a wonderfully crass atmosphere, without being shitty like Crabby Joe's.

There's one in Burlington I used to go to quite often (but the one in Meadowlands sucks. Don't go there).

Maybe. They're new and they might view this as good publicity.

Really, I was bringing it up for viewtopic.php?t=62409 , viewtopic.php?t=63984 , and viewtopic.php?t=64462
