Can you handle... the DAILY GRIND?

Post by STrRedWolf »

I just heard from Scott Kurtz on his web comic that he's entered into the The Daily Grind Iron Man Challenge. You basicly bet $20 that you will update every day before 12 midnight PST, and for ANY reason you fail, you're out.

Scott's in. (( Slight edit )) Can we get 'Spaces own IronMen on this?

And yes, I'll make sure any failure relating to servers doesn't happen (except for catostrophic cases I can't control).

Hell, lets get Mcduffies in on it! He'll beat all their butts with his awesome cat powers.

EDIT: wow, it'll keep going until only one remains, that is an endurance challenge.
NJ is also Orion's fiance of sexy passion with the love of a thousand sea monkeys

Hehe. I've been doing this for almost a year now without missing an update even once. Maybe I'll toss my hat in the ring. I have $20.

That'd be fun, but there's no way I could handle it. School takes up too much time.

if it weren't for the fact that I don't actually draw a comic, it wouldn't be hard to move from 5 days a week to 7... i have yet to miss an update in 2 and a half years the way i'm going now.

Man I think I'd wager a few bucks that Cortland has a shot!

Easy peasy.

Not worried about a contest, though.

Not me! :P I update once a week, at the most, due to the time it takes to do one page of my comic.

My money is on Cortland and Warren.

Yeah, this doesn't look all that hard. Even putting out a half decent comic like Thespiphobia, I can do three comics a day quite easily.

I'm too cheap to shell out the twenty bucks, though. :P

I want to make some sort of joke about an organ grinder and a monkey or something but I think I'm too tired, can't think of anything good...

I updated daily for two years. I would never go to daily update again.

Which is ironic, because when you count all my comics, I actually update more than seven times a week. Does that count perhaps?
I don't think it would be too hard job for me, provided that I can center around one comic and leave other projects at rest, which I'm not at the moment. I know I could blast out a monthly update in a week (I tried) so it would take a month or two to make a year long buffer and just sit around snickering and watching others as they work their asses off. I mean, generally, I always have a comic ready at least couple of weeks before it's gonna be out, I don't work well at the last moment so I keep out of that situation.

I could do this with a low quality strip. This contest doesn't seem fair to me. Maybe it should be judged in different categories -- the famous people (like Kurtz), and the unknowns.

For the strip I *want* to do, I can barely manage twice weekly updates. :)

man with how easy I cut and paste. if I just had a single plot in my head, or just wrote all the stupid things I think about as jokes, I could easily do 2 months worth of strips in a day!
