Post by Jeffy »

for anyone looking for a good site to submit to for hits, check out OnlineComics.net

after a day the number of hit';s I've gotten from that site (unique) are more than the total i've gotten for the rest for the whole month, and CoCoVamp likes my comic, so I got that goin' for me too

I get more from http://www.thewebcomiclist.com. But that's because twc checks rss feeds and all. I think since I'm on Onlinecomics.net, my comic got burried under those comics that signed up later. However, I've seen they have some new options, I'll have to check them.

I think it's one of those things that's great at first, but then settles down... at least that's how it's worked for me.

For Station V3, I got some hits at first when the listing on Onlinecomics was new, but very few after that until I had a sponsor ad for a few months - and when that was over, the hits from there went back down again. Same thing for Z7, except without the sponsor ad. I have the automatic page scan thing on to check for updates, but so far it hasn't done much for the number of hits.

That does look like a rather interesting way to advertise a comic. Heck, even if it only gets one or two more readers for me it's worth doing.

It is free after all.

Of all these types of sites, I got the most hits from topwebcomics. I don't know why, maybe it has lots of readers.

Hmmn. Out of curiousity, how do you know where your hits come from? I don't see any report like that from the webalizer logs.

Yup, me too. Being new in the listings gets you a boost, and then it levels off.

Do you guys have special programs that tell you where your hits come from or is there a site you go to or what?

I'd like to know for myself, thanks.

I took place in one of those banner exchange things and it messed my referrers all up.

I know that many comics don't have links to Red Lexi because I would have way more then 200 readers if that many people were linked up.

That's not necessarily true. It could be that a lot of comics that few readers link to you.
