Keenspace Collaborative Comic

Though we won't be allowed to call it that, it's just a working name.
Anyhow, since this isn't the second sampler I felt it warranted its own thread. So post suggestions and stuff here rather than in the Sampler 2 thread, it's already been split from the Sampler 1 thread once already.
The plan for this is another 600dpi print ready comic, produced by multiple participants. However, in order to give the reader something more to get his/her teeth into it'll all be one comic, just produced by several artists.
I made the mistake of originally refering to this as a jam. This put peoples minds onto the track of things like Battle Royale and Keenspace Revolution. This will not be like that. Neither will it be a case of "Continue the story", it'd needs planning, and everyone needs to be able to do their part at the same time.
The first stage is brainstorming. We need a story. This could be an ideal opportunity for people like Phalanx who don't have the time to draw additional comics. We need a writer or group of writers to ultimately bash out a story, and 28+ scripted pages.
I really want to avoid using forumers as main characters. We can fill out the background as pedestrians, we can be newsreporters on the tv in the shop window, we can be minor characters like a member of the mafia or something along those lines. The plethora of forum don't really work well together in a proper comic. And it's much too tempting to have injokes. Even character interaction can be a problem. We all loved Bobs "Waiting for War" but to outsiders, they don't know what the heck's going on. They don't know what the deal is with those hands groping the antropomorphic cat. A real comic establishes its characters, even a short comic. It doesn't rely on what people already know about them.
At this point someone or a group of people will have to design the main characters, and possibly any reoccuring backdrops that are required. People will be free to give their own touches to the character, and use their own styles, but we need known character designs so characters will always be recognised as being "that character". All jams have this, it's just that in most jams comics are produced consecutively as opposed to concurrently. In normal jams you can get the designs from previous comics, in this case we'll all be working at the same time so we'll need the designs done beforehand.
Now we need people to draw it. I'm not sure how to choose this. There's less places available for this, and it does require much more dedication. It also requires a higher level of skill. You won't be drawing your own stuff this time, you'll be drawing what you're told to do. You may end up having to draw a car chase (though people will have the option to swap story sections if needed), so if you can't draw vehicles it's time to learn!
After that it's just a matter of collecting all the finished comics, and handing them to someone who can stitch them together into a pdf. And then we're done.
Ok, to start! We need ideas, we need to pool the energies of all the online comics ever written!. We also need volunteer writers to start the thing off. I'm no good, I'm not really a webcomic writer, I've only actually properly scripted a comic around twice. Now go!
